Comments for The New American Dream

Living off entitlements and scams is unfortunately what defines the modern day American Democrat.

Someone put up a Fulla-Bulla stamp for Stan . . .

Stan--- the "unmitigated fact" is that I think for myself / I don't give a rat's ass for anything any party puts out. If you dare to let my articles have a full comment section with ME included---I will burn your tail with factual debate . . .

I admit I too am fond of cliques.

GS & Stan: Tech Writing 101 and Sermons require data references. Old Testament: Kill them all and New Testament: Turn the other cheek. Only Investigative Reports have facts. We need to reference the data or our Comments are Opinions.

I am not a tea party member Gene, but I am a Conservative who can do math, with my eyes wide open.

You definitely are a Liberal, who knows all the talking points of their group think.

These are unmitigated facts.

Ted McD posted some comments on his personal office page, which he has wisely decided to close to other commenters, about the information available regarding Walmart's practices. The subject is worthy of a separate post and I may broach the subject at some point. Let me restate my position on this: My efforts are to try to force the conversation toward dealing in facts rather than wild accusations. The post clearly indicates that the problem is a system that allows individuals and corporations to take actions that are their best interest. My libertarian leanings tell me that the SYSTEM at fault as well as the participants.
Here is the link to his page, see the comments below the post. Good point Ted and clever not to actually get in the middle of the debate.

Both Little D and Stan D are Tea Party Conservatives---who are nothing more than mules with blinders on so they won't eat the crop they are plowing . . .

Little D is talking about taxes not trees.

GS, I was not aware I altered you statement, I thought I was just putting in into a factual context. You asked to see the IRS books and I complied with your request. It's the adjectives that lead us astray of the facts.

Bobby Tony---both you and Stan are part of the Conservative Clown Cruise. You both so alter any statement from anyone who disagrees with you that you hope they will get mad and quit.

I deal with difficult trees every day that try to kill us and destroy the client's property. Today I spent most of the day getting rid of a bad 120' pine with a speed line and caribiners to send the limbs to a pile in the yard. Tonight the stump is ground 4" below the main grade so rainwater no longer runs in the front door of the house like your piss running down hill.

What did you jerks do with your day when I made good money away from the Conservatism of BCN . . . Come on over and I will pay you to feed limbs to the big chipper. I actually used and big blow torch to put "Stan and BT" on the stump my big Vermeer stump cuter turned into a pile of mulch. I did you a favor and did not mess with your obstinate ways TODAY!!! KMA, gents . . .

Bobby Tony, you are a naturally funny guy.

I enjoy your solid shtick more than 3/4 of the stand-up guys, and all your material is clean too. You are a rare find for BCN.

Thanks again Buddy.

GS, Just some advice, refrain from making blanket statements that can be disproved with about three mouse clicks.
Most people keep two sets of books as well, even if they do not realize it. The two methods of accounting are Cash Accounting and Accrual Accounting.
When you go out to eat and pay cash you are On the Cash method. If you charge the meal you are on the Accrual method. If you do both in the same month, you are keeping two sets of books. The cash you spent and the Liability you incurred to be paid for later.
Companies are no different
One set of books is for the financial statements that are prepared according to GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles). The other set is the books they keep to pay their taxes to the IRS. The net result is the same after all is said and done and Depreciated assets are disposed of.
The government, it turns out, does not much care for “generally accepted” and is often only concerned with what actually happened. It usually does not want to hear about “estimates.” GAAP, on the other hand, actually requires management to make estimates of both revenues and expenses all the time.
Here is the extract of the audited financials.
Since I know you are too busy to read the whole 68-page report, I direct you to page 41. For 2015 the federal taxes paid is $8,169,000,000. In addition, you may note the two previous years. That is actual money spent. Their effective tax rate is 32.2%.(page 55).

Beaufort County Community College offers an Accounting Fundamentals course for $70. I would offer to pay for your tuition for this one course, but I no longer have confidence that you would learn anything.
The picture may not be too clear but the data is correct

To be completely accurate, I should have said: "Pay a pittance in taxes and dividends to stockholders---compared to their real and personal gains."

ALL corps have a legal right to keep 2 sets of books --- one for the IRS / another for the stockholders. Show us the IRS books, BT---then you might have a case to debate me.

"It is almost as good a the Walmart way of not paying a penny in Federal Taxes and hiding their assets and profits from the IRS and Stockholders with their Luxembourg Shell Corps formed in the last 2 years! Gene Scarborough"

From YAHOO FINANCE Walmart Income Statement
Numbers in thousands
Walmart paid $7,985,000,000 in Federal taxes in 2015
That is Billion not Million
They also took advantage of legal loopholes, so let us just be honest in our hyperbole.

It is almost as good a the Walmart way of not paying a penny in Federal Taxes and hiding their assets and profits from the IRS and Stockholders with their Luxembourg Shell Corps formed in the last 2 years!

Almost as good as our Governor and NC Legislators saying the Middle Class taxpayers are saving money under them ~~~ THEN every person I talk with says their State Taxes have been higher! My small business does NOT have the $50K incentive to buy new equipment with a tax credit --- YET the rich can still get a big credit for their new corporate private jet!

"Wealthfare" is what many are calling such . . .AND 1% now have 80% of all US wealth! Sounds like the Old World our ancestors gladly left behind to me!
