Good Afternoon Everyone,
Our office is currently monitoring an approaching low pressure system that has the potential to bring damaging winds, isolated tornados, heavy rains and hazardous marine conditions to our area tomorrow afternoon through Thursday morning. The forecast for Beaufort Co. is as follows
Winds will be sustained at 10mph shortly after sunrise tomorrow morning. Gust of 15 to 20mph will be possible between 9am Wednesday and 3am Thursday morning.
Rain is likely during the daytime hours tomorrow, with our greatest chance occurring between 9am and 4pm. Most areas of our county are forecasted to receive 1/2" of rain during this time, with locally heavier amounts possible where isolated stronger storms develop.
A Small Craft Advisory has been issued for the Pamlico and Pungo rivers beginning at 10am tomorrow, and continuing through 10pm. Southeast winds of 15 to 20kts are expected, with gust of 25kts possible.
Isolated tornados are possible with the formation of stronger storms during the day tomorrow.
