Great analysis. Our Board and Administration has allowed funding to be wasted by adding more Admin employees. These funds should have been used for school safety. Nothing is more important than the safety of our children. We should have school resource officers, school nurses, and mental health professionals available to deal with such emergencies, and funds should be avail for these positions in addition to needed security features at the doorways.

Van Zant: I am not a fan of the Victory Committee. It is not correct to say it hasn't been brought up. I've personally voiced my concerns about numerous actions of the committee and have had discussions with both members of the Victory Committee and others about my concerns. Some are actually likely to be addressed. The difference here is that I don't shout at people to shut up at Executive Committee meetings. Or accuse people of crimes in public. Or grandstand at meetings so everyone thinks I'm somehow special. I don't label everyone that disagrees with my small world view a liberal. These are the things Mr. Richardson does. It's why he's even ineffective at getting answers about the Victory Committee.

When I hear of Mr Richardson's rhetoric about how this needs to change or that needs to change ... I think back to one of the greatest moments in political history during the 2016 Presidential Election Debate between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. Hillary (aka Mr. Richardson) complained about the tax code. Trump looked at her and said "You've been in Washington for over 20 years! Why didn't you change it?" Well Mr Richardson its been 30 years. Why haven't you enacted anything to advance conservatism? Are you going to blame the RINOs again? For 30 years! Leaders can navigate difficult terrain but your toxic personality prevents any progress on that front.

Mr Richardson ... I have finally stopped laughing after reading your last comment. This is exactly what one expects from you and why you haven't passed anything. "I showed" my liberalism? LOL This is what you do. Anyone that disagrees with you or points out your behavior suddenly is transformed from a hardcord conservative to a liberal or Democratic Socialist. Do you never tire of attacking fellow conservatives? My positions are all conservative but in your small world anyone that disagrees with you becomes an instant liberal. It's comical.

So it is ok to limit local party involvment in primary races but not Raleighs' involvement in local party primaries. Also Walter B. can endorse a local candidate but a local commissioner can't. Sounds like political doublespeak or sour apples or complete lack of logic to me. And what happened to the 1st Amendment again?

Now they have the gall to think we are so thankfull that they have given us a choice by voting on their tax increase. How benificent they are!!! Every time they are faced with reality they turn to that old progressive standyby "Raise Taxes". I say we aqquaint them with another reality. Lets vote them out, not vote to raise our taxes.

Mr. Van Zant, from what I know about politics, with this county GOP, this is no way to stock a government with the best elected leaders available.

As someone who knows how government works at all levels, let me tell you the essence of what I learned from the business I retired from: Government is interlinked and connected.

After moving to Beaufort County, I essentially wanted to know how the local governments operated, especially the county government, which is by far biggest gorilla in a small room, so to speak. What I learned from that evaluation is that Stan Deatherage, along with that Hood fella, stands head and shoulders above all the rest, therefore, Commissioner Deatherage, you have my non elected endorsement similar to the one Mr. Fritz so generously awarded you in the last few days.

For a man of your years you are not a good judge of character. Do your own research instead of relying on a proven liar’s word. Look at the court case I referred to in my first article. Are you calling federal Judge Dever a liar? Look at Ernie’s published comments in the WDN and WITN where he said nothing happened and both Deputies lied. Both Deputies won their civil cases costing the county hundreds of thousands of dollars in the settlement plus hundreds of thousands in attorney fees and other costs driving the total cost above one million I am sure.
I published my information within weeks of people bringing it to my attention. I did not choose the timing of the settlement or when the staff had enough of his abuse.
I did not say anything about Ernie’s support of Trump. I am sure he does. If Ernie told you he is a patriot, I do not question that at all.
If you think I lied by reporting the case comments from Judge Dever, I will say I stand by my reporting. If you chose to believe a man that lies under oath as documented in a federal case, you show a blind following to a man that does not deserve your support and will embarrass you more in the future. I am not finished with Ernie yet. If he thinks being a constitutional officer imparts some special privilege to him where the law does not apply, I will show him it does. Many have expressed their fear of him. I fear no man and will stand up for those that are unwilling or unable. Ernie has been a bully most of his adult life. I have known him since 1984-85. I can not abide a bully.
Mr. Cratch, I invite you to attend one of the many forums Ernie will be invited to so he can explain what he has done publicly and refute what I have said. The first one is January 13th in Aurora. You will note Ernie is the only candidate that has not agreed to participate. Why not? If he feels maligned, show up and say so.
