E-Recording is a technology that allows attorneys, realtors, and title companies around the country to file documents easily, securely, and most of all, quickly from the comfort of their own office to the Register of Deed’s Office—96 counties e-Record in North Carolina. In 2023, the Beaufort County Register of Deeds office recorded 6,122 real estate documents. 3,492 recordings were over-the-counter (hard copies) and 2,630 were eRecordings. The only difference between the two is the delivery method. They all go through the same process of indexing. 255 marriage licenses were issued. Over 285 births were recorded and approximately 548 deaths were recorded. It is imperative to offer convenient services to our customers. The issue is space in the Register of Deeds office. My vote is for Hood.
He has always been trying to save money for the citizens.
One can be a safe politician and a nobody, or one can stick their neck out and always find someone willing to chop it off.
At least when we call him, he doesnt say, "I dont know, I'll have to ask the county manager (the way Washington council members do.)
About those 7 loads of deeds hauled away. Where were they hauled to, the dump? I know people in genealogy who will pay to own old deeds. People buy them on Ebay too.
Were the deeds offered to the the Archives in Raleigh. They preserve old documents like it were gold. If they were dumped in the trash or destroyed, then Carolyn should resign for that reason alone. I dont think she had the right to make tht kind of decision on her own.
Where did the docs go?? Was money made off their transfer? Or did we pay to have them destroyed?

Stan, The issue is that the Real Republican Party is working to weed at those who do not follow the Republican Platform. You and Hood generalize and call the entire party RINOs. All I see is Hood going after good people who don’t agree with him. It is ok to disagree but we have elections to win. Democrats join together to win elections. Hood does not vet his candidates but chooses them on his own platform and agenda. The One and Only True Republican Party needs people who work together as a party. We don’t go after Republicans. We go after Democrats.The name calling needs to stop.

Just so you know I am not who you think I am. HoweverI remember when Hood resigned but at no time was a letter presented to any of the officers of the Executive Committee. If there was it would be in a file in the office. Records are meticulously kept at the office. The Plan of Organization is followed also at all times. Since neither one of you have a vote on anything your opinion is not important. I have been involved for a long time and have respect for the strong Republicans who are involved on the existing ExCom. The swamp has been drained.

So Big Bob, the Leftist, has a knowledgeable relationship with nominal and quite unsophisticated, completely unremarkable self-described "Republican Insiders," who will NOT assert the local GOP's Plan of Organization when it really matters, but, instead, only when it suits them, and often, as specified by Commissioner Richardson, they are wrong.

That explains volumes to the Real Republicans of Beaufort County. They are out there, and in growing numbers.
