Cheeseman's schemes to move the school systems outside contracts to firms outside of Beaufort County, screwing local businesses and professionals, often cost more money than what Beaufort County vendors were charging. This is screwing the taxpayers. Part of his motivation may well be political, but one wonders if anyone is getting kickbacks. We need more school board members that will question these things. Elected officials who are in the hip pocket of the bureaucrats are a nightmare for taxpayers.
Other examples of outside contracts that Cheeseman has recommeneded taking away from Beaufort County firms and sending out of county, usually at a higher cost, include the grounds maintenance contract, school bus cleaning contract, and legal services. There is a pattern here and it stinks. The Cheeseman rubber stamps need to be removed from the school board.

Stan - Your firm's situation is just one more example of the warped politics in this county that ultimately works against the public interest. One would hope that public officials would place the public as a higher priority. That's not the case in Beaufort County. The priority here is petty personal grievances and petty public weaponization by public officials and bureaucrats. It's worse than childish. Unfortunately, we've got all that before we even get to the outright unpunished fraud.

The reality is most folks don’t do business with people who insult them . I’m sure Stan doesn’t mind losing business because he stands in principle. F - them, right buddy?

This is why you vote republican. MAGA is unworkable. They call you every name in the book, then expect you to do business with them. What planet are they on?

Stan - the political hatchet job that Cheeseman connived with Frankie Waters to cut your firm out of the school website contract and give it to an out of state company at a much higher cost to our taxpayers was disgraceful, as were the Cheeseman flunkies on the school board who went along with it. It is just one more reason Cheeseman needs to GO,
Sadly, that is just one of the contracts where Cheeseman has cut out local people and sent school contracts out of the county at a higher cost. Wonder what he gets in return?

Van Zant: When we did work for the school system, everything we did was far better than what they have now under the current administration. We have well analyzed the situation; compared and contrasted to perfection, including ADA compliance.
I hope Mr. Hickman is reading this, so he can try to make a difference with a new school board.

"Whataboutism" is a buzzword of the extreme left when they try to excuse their being hypocrites or not looking at the full picture. It is a laughable term.

Is eliminating the Aurora school part of Cheeseman's campaign against community schools and trying to put everyone in mega-schools? Yes it does seem very odd that this part of the discussion would be censored by eliminating the sound. I still wonder where the rest of the students for his Washington Elementary mega-school will come from, Bath or CHocowinity? We need more school board members who are not Cheeseman sock puppets. Is his gambit to close Aurora, bus those kids to Chocowinity, allowing him to then bus some of the Chocowinity kids to help fill his Washington mega-school?

Here's the good news: The 8.20.24 school board meeting is finally up. Here's the bad news: There is no sound for the first 25 minutes of the meeting.
I am aware that members of the Aurora and surrounding communities were going to that meeting, so I called a school board member to verify. Sure enough, the sound was cut for all the speakers from the public which included a number of speakers from Aurora. Also found that board member Hickman made a statement that was not heard on the tape either. Hum. Coincidence? I've been hearing some rumblings from that part of the county. I think I'm putting my money on those folks having a legitimate gripe. ![]()

There is a clear difference on who respected our fallen soldiers from the Biden-Harris botched withdrawal from Afghanistan. Biden disrespected them from the very beginning and was MIA on this anniversary of their sacrafice, as was Harris. Trump gave them the respect they deserved. Military families understand that even if whoever writes your crazy talking points does not. The families of these fallen soldiers get it and so do the wider range of military families. You clearly don't. All the military families I know are voting for Trump.

The families that put on the memorial service were happy that the photographers were there to record the event. That crap from the NPR dude who claimed Trump almost got in a fight was lying through his teeth and that claim has been debunked. That is all too typical of Nutty Progressive Radio.
The families who lost their loved ones to the Biden-Harris botched withdrawal from Afghanistan were pleased that Trump participated and not please that neither Biden nor Harris even mentioned their sacrafice in so much as a press release. They completely ignored the anniversay. When it comes to respecing the dead, it was Trump that did so and Biden and Harris who did not. Heck when the bodies first landed in the US from Afghanistan, Biden repearedly kept looking at his watch while the coffins were unleaded. How more disrespectful can one get? The left's talking points put an absolutely ridiculous spin on this event, that any discussion with the families involved would totally debunk. Many of those family members even attended the Republican National Convention because they know which party has our servicemen's back, and it is NOT the Biden-Harris circus.

When "rules" are being interpreted by someone who is responsible to a poitical appointee on the other side, like our woke joke of a Defense Secretary, that interpretation is likely to be bogus. Also, you may be relying on the debunked version put out by someone at National Progressive Radio (NPR).
Biden and Harris did nothing to honor our soldiers who were killed in their badly botched Afghanistan withdrawal and they were not happy that Trump and Vance chose to honor them on the anniversary of their deaths. Harris was the last person who talked to Biden about Afghanistan before he made his diastrous decision, which also encouraged Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Here's another reason that Harris has Walz tagging along. By doing that it cuts Harris' time in the interview to potentially screw up by one half.

Here's who can't govern - Kamala Harris, the "border czar" who never even bothered to go to the border, and who in 40+ days since her party elites annointed her in a palace coup to be their candidate is not even competent enough to put her policy positions on her website or hold au unscripted press conference or live interview by herself. When she finally agrees to do an interview, she has to take Walz along as a minder and requires it to be taped so her screwups and word salads can be edited out. This woman is clearly not ready for prime time.
Even worse, her running mate Walz has been groomed by Red China, which might tempt China to try to take Harris out either by creating a scandal or by more primitive means. Having a literal Manchurian candidate a heartbeat from the presidency is even scarier than Harris herself.
