First of all, I am not Stan and I am not Hood. I am someone that recognizes that Stan and Hood are right about how a committee should function. The GOP is an extreme example of a county party committee operating incorrectly. Truly, they are not a committee at this point at all. They are a mob.
The Plan of Organization is there for a reason. Leaders justifying horrendous actions with gaslighting and extreme acts of hypocrisy culminating in acts of cruelty against party foes and no penalties for guilty party friends are not fit for leadership by a credible organization. It is not just for committee members exercising the duties of membership to be harassed and brought up on false charges while simultaneously protecting members that have committed egregious acts. There is no functional due process in this committee. They've made a mockery of the Plan of Organization, and it is in effect been put aside. There is only a manipulator (or two) using the mob to get their way. Then there is the constant campaign against conservative Republican officeholders and candidates. This is taboo for a political party. This is the antithesis of what a political party is supposed to do. If people are interested in wild attacks on same party candidates in primaries and general elections, they should do it in a political action committee. It is wrong to do it as an actual political party made up of party officials using the party as a platform for doing it. These unethical people on this committee want their cake and eat it too. A functional executive committee would have shut this down. A rabid mob like we have in Beaufort County will not. It is sad to know we have reached a new era of carpetbaggers and scalawags here in Beaufort County. This could have been stopped if more good people had stood up against these wrongs. Thanks to the people that did stand for right. It takes courage to stand for right in the face of a mob.

Van Zant: Shirley Richardson contacted me this morning to render information that I am on the acrimonious receiving end of many slanderous attacks, all at the hands of the Beaufort County GOP, primarily on their Beaufort County GOP FB Page, a page that they are entirely responsible for ... So, I took a look, and was humored to find out that I am specifically being honored and accused of being you - the wise wonderkind Van Zant.
Also on the Beaufort County GOP FB Page, of which they are entirely responsible for, I am being slandered by a confirmed discontent of truthful living, who did part of a job for me, walked off without finishing, and then boldly attempted to shake-me-down for money he did not earn. This is outright slander, whereby when I was taken to court as the defendant to pay money I did, and never owed NOT owe, I, alternatively, won that case by representing myself, and the truth, Pro Se, thereby by winning by the plaintiff's desire for a Voluntary Dismissal of his case against me. That was his one smart move regarding his dealings with me. A word to the wise: If you have the honor and responsibility to do work for me, you will not take advantage of me ... Likewise, I do all within my power to protect my constituents from the abject irresponsible stupidity that bad governing abjectly offers, and yes that is exactly how RINOs govern, and RINOs are at the core of the Beaufort County GOP. The Beaufort County GOP promoting this scurrilous attempt to defraud me is how the Beaufort County GOP considers supporting me, and YOU, my constituents. If the promotion of slander is how the Carolyn Garris's GOP affords me support, then this is not new ... The Beaufort County GOP politically slandered me in the 2022 General Election, and Carolyn Garris did absolutely nothing to rectify this transgression. So, thank-you VanZant for spilling your constant truth about an impossible situation, where people who are NOT from here run the Beaufort County GOP like fools and petulant children. In fact, I am absolutely honored to be considered you, and furthermore ... Carolyn Garris should resign her chairmanship for party disloyalty, plain and simple, for what she has become a party to in what has become of the once venerable Beaufort County GOP. Working to do Real Republicans great political harm is NO way to run a local county GOP.

Additionally, as of late there have been appeals here and other places for those involved in this local Republican squabble to cool it in this general election season. The response to those appeals were for Chairman Garris of the Beaufort County Republican Party to attack Republican Commissioner Deatherage, a candidate in this election. She made this pronouncement on the Party Facebook page. That alone is reason for Garris to go. If the Executive Committee cannot figure that out, they should go also. This is a real low point.

These Garris-ites are the biggest hypocrites and gaslighters ever. They make a mockery of the Plan of Organization in ways that attack Conservatives and protect their friends. They've made it clear that their number one mission is to oppose Conservatives in both primaries and general elections. They will not deal with relevant party issues and will go to absurd lengths to keep from doing so. They have no shame about running the Executive Committee in the most crooked, non-transparent manner possible.
Examples of what I am talking about abound in these comments. Instead of working through these very relevant issues, they persistently harp on one personal attack after another (as shown by many of these comments). We get it. They hate Hood and anyone else with questions they do not want to answer. The problem is that hate is not reason to run an organization in the manner this one is being run. That's not a legitimate excuse. They are actively and under the Party banner working against Republican candidates in a general election. That is the party disloyalty they accuse others of. This behavior is disgraceful. I once hoped these people would blink and evaluate where they have taken the party. People in this for the right reasons would not have gone down this road. To say the least, their priorities are misguided and warped. Truely, their behavior is abysmal. People with other reasons than helping the community really should not place themselves in these positions. We all suffer harm because of it.

To the upset commenters below. The truth really hurts. "It burns, burns, burns like a ring of fire" - June Carter Cash. You do a great job of distorting the truth and embracing lies.
Irrational Observer, it is more important that the public knows who and what you are.

Mr Richardson, let's get one thing straight, I've said most of these things to your face. So the fact that you don't know who I am is more of a demonstration of how incompetent you are as a leader. Secondly, I had to laugh when you pointed out making contributions to Democratic officeholders since you were a Democratic officeholder including during the Reagan years. You didn't even switch to the Republican Party until halfway through Clinton's first term.
You know what's cowardice, attacking women on a constant basis and calling them b**ches. It's also hypocrisy since the vast number of people that rally to your defense hide behind nicknames ... i'd actually be shocked if half of them aren't you. See you don't like being challenged. You think you're entitled to just bully people, but you're not. And everyone's sick of it. Do us all a favor and term limit yourself.

1/3 Another week, another installment of "Queen Garris." At this point, the nickname has been repeated so often that one might wonder whether the author believes repetition transforms rhetoric into evidence.
It does not. Let's start with one of Hoodwinks more serious accusations: that Frankie Waters has been "writing checks to Democrats." Fortunately, campaign finance records are public and searchable through the NCSBE website. And what does a search of Frankie Waters, Frank Waters, and variations of his name reveal? One. One contribution to a Democratic candidate. So, technically, Mr. Rhetoricson can say Waters once contributed to a Democrat. But portraying one contribution from more than 25 years ago as "writing checks to Democrats" creates a considerably different impression from what the public record actually shows. If there are more, produce them. The records are public.

3/3 And there's some irony in lecturing everyone about democracy while labeling Republicans he dislikes "RINOs," Republicans he supports "conservatives," decisions he agrees with democracy, and decisions he dislikes dictatorship.
The BCRP doesn't belong to Carolyn Garris. It doesn't belong to the Executive Committee. And, despite what one might conclude from his columns, it doesn't belong to Hookwink Rhetoricson either. It belongs to the Republicans of Beaufort County who chose to participate. They showed up. They voted. They chose Carolyn Garris. Again, and again. Perhaps the problem isn't that Chairman Garris refuses to respect democracy. Perhaps it's that Mr. Richardson has has difficulty respecting democracy when he doesn't like the result. The writing is on the wall. Perhaps Hoodwink couldn't stay awake long enough to read it.

My God, if Mr. Richardson devoted one tenth of the time he obsesses over Carolyn Garris and other Republicans to actually trying to accomplish something I think hell would freeze over. This guy has CDS (Carolyn Derangement Syndrome). Besides being the worst Republican I've ever met and a grade A douche I have yet to have anyone name a single leiglative accomplishment of this horse's rear.
There is no one that does more harm to the Republican brand than Mr. Richardson. He spends his time in his endless lifelong failure to take over the Republican Party for personal aggrandizement while ensuring he turns off dvery sane person in the county. He is not a conservative. He is a demogogue...there is a difference. Perhaps one day instead of calling the police on overweight black women walking down the street, tearing apart Republican elected officials and sleeping in meetings after not stepping foor in a school for 20 years, this dinosaur will be retired. One can dream.

No informed local conservative Republican recognizes this leadership of the local GOP. Also, what's with the weak-kneed executive committee? Are most of them as bad as she is, or are they just ignorant?
If this is what the Republican Party is, there is no real party. People need to increase efforts for ballot access reform. As is, the parties are way too corrupt for any expectation for good results.
