Dictating to incumbent Republicans continues.

Rino Hunter, Good question and good point!
Are the identities of the volunteer committee membership also secretly held by the CITY?
And can we lobby these members to share city issues from our own knowledge and experience? How do we contact them?
Where did the idea for these committees come from? I suspect it came from the Planning Dept, where Perreault also serves on the Planning Board.
Inquiring minds want to know.

Hmmm! Secret meetings? Do they publicize them or are they invitation only? Seems downright Soviet. I wonder if they will call the result a "5 year plan"? It sure sounds like the concept is to spend more taxpayer money, not less.

I wanted you to see Perreault's post on facebook 7/30/26 explaining the whole Citizen committee strategy.

edited post: "These meetings have brought together city staff, community leaders, and residents with different backgrounds and perspectives, all working toward the same goal: making Washington an even better place to live, work, and visit.
This is still the beginning of the process, but I’m encouraged by the collaboration and the willingness of everyone involved to think creatively and focus on achievable projects.
Our workgroup will now submit these initiatives to be considered for inclusion in Washington’s final Strategic Plan. As the remaining workgroups complete their recommendations, those initiatives will also be compiled into the final plan for Council’s consideration."

"At the beginning of July, I shared that I had the opportunity to lead one of th strategic planning workgroups as Council’s liaison. Our group was tasked with Revitalized Town Infrastructure, and over the past two meetings we’ve started turning ideas into real, actionable projects. include: Addressing blighted properties.
* Exploring ways to increase demolition funding where appropriate.
* Creating a faster, easier process for builders and developers to purchase cleared lots and return them to productive use through new homes or rehabilitation.

Washingtonian, what are those fake "citizen committees" lobbying for? What do we need to watch out for?
Commented: Monday, August 17th, 2026 @ 9:07 am By: Concerned Taxpayer
Under the approval of the City Govt, and head spokesman Perreault, Washington has given a subtle authority to several Citizen committees to lobby the City to take certain actions. As these committees are guided by the City from the start, all their lobbying will be what the City already WANTS...without the Govt taking the blame for it. As they are useful idiots, it will be another shadow govt posing as grassroots. Prove me wrong.

BTW, if Sadler had the power ya'll think he does, then the Metropolitan Homeless Shelter would have been approved at this week's Board of Adjustment meeting.

Washingtonian, one constantly wonders about the hidden agendas in Washington city government. One is Sadler's crusade to get the mayor's job back, with Tyre and Horton his go-fers. Another is the longtime goal of the Sadler group for a DEI hire as city manager. To them, the worst thing about Rorie was probably the fact that he is a white straight male., so he simply had to go to make way for "social justice" That he kept the wasterful spending for those absurd DEI outreach staffewrs to blacks and Hispanics was not enough to save him.

As far as safety in the city, spending big bucks out of the police budget to hire those two DEI outreach staffers, which was done under Sadler wasted money that should have been spend on law enforcement. Why should our law enforcement budget become a slush fund for "social justice" nonsense?

Regarding the Ray Leary disclosure, it begs the question: Where is their Plan of Organization Committee? Is anyone even trying to come into compliance with the new state plan? If they had a PoO Committee, would the committee even report back to the overall committee? I think the answer is, Chariman Garris makes it up on the fly with her dictates while her clapping seal supporters allow it to happen. And think about it. When has the Victory Committee EVER reported to the Executive Committee.

Talk to people that have served on real committees of this type. I have. They have never heard of such mess as what happens in Beaufort County. Hood's criticisms are well founded. In answer to Rationality Observatory, maybe the articles would stop if the abuses stopped happening.

These articles are a public service. The community needs to know how screwed up this organization really is.

WDNs 7/24/26
“The city isn’t safe,” Interim Washington Police Chief Phil Rollinson said at a special called city council meeting."

Me: [Was this th statement that got Rorie fired, was it a mutiny...a threaten boycott against the city by Police and other Department Heads?]
WDNs:
"PoliceChief clarifies statement on city safety.
Washington's interim police chief walked back a “city isn’t safe”
remark after a tense council meeting over dispatch staffing, as
officials clashed on cuts & fired th city manager."
Rollinson: “So my issue is, can we continue to police th city
effectively & do what we need to do? No we can’t. The city’s not safe w the way we’re doing things right now,” Rollinson said. “The
current state of affairs is fairly dangerous in the city as it stands right now.”

*Those scary words in a *planned PUBLIC TRIAL* was all it took for th firing. Employees 1, Truth 0. GameOver

Tyre is Sadler's alter ego, a loyal discipline of Boss Sadler.

It was Tyre and Horton who put the firing of Rorie on the agenda. Did they do that because Sadler decided he wanted Rotie gone? Sadler has long wanted a DEI hire for city manager. Was getting rid of Rorie part of that game plan?
Commented: Saturday, August 15th, 2026 @ 4:21 pm By: Rino Hunter
They sometimes say the problem is not corruption, but is negligence & sloppiness manifesting a bad City Govt.
At the same City meeting I was watchin, Rorie said City code was NOT being enforced equally. He appeared to say that th employees were told if they werent going to do th job then they werent needed here. Now I like this kind of talk. BUT was this why he was fired? Did the Bureaucracy fight back? Horton thinks the Council's job is to protect the employees first. Davis replied their job is to serve Citizens FIRST.
So now my question is WHY was Rorie fired? We werent told th facts. And it happened mighty fast. It seems no one but Tyrie & maybe Horton knew it was coming. But in 1 evening, he was fired. BTW, I dont recall Tyre being so vocally "opinionated" or trying to micro-manage while Sadler was Mayor. The status quo seemed 2b just fine w hm back then.
Let this b a lesson. Elected ppl, arent smarter than WeThePpl.
Often they were just at th right place at th right time.

Perrault and Davis were elected to get a handle on out of control taxes and spending. I do not see anyone working on that front, and it is a disappointment. Tyree and Horton are spendthrifts who have put a huge burden on taxpayers, but the other two need to get their asses in gear and try to do something. Skip the other stuff. Lets get our overspending cut and our taxes more reasonable.

Buzz: Your statement regarding the building of a better government, "An informed public would really help this," is where we start, and I am rededicating my energies to that maxim of building a better public to know what is real.

Washingtonian: The whole City Council's crooked, to a certain degree, and trying to cover their asses BUT I do, however, commend them for calling out Davis on trying to shelve his own motion.

While there are some drinking up the "Jubilee Joe" Old Testament blood-fantasy Kool Aid in the community, many, from both sides, aren't fans of Religious Extremism (Christian Zionism masked as "Christian Nationalism"); there's too many "isms" in this equation and that's never a good thing for We, The People. Folks are doing their homework and connecting dots. None of this is rocket science.

The reality of all this is that, across the board, these rogue politicians are only in it for themselves and not for the betterment of those they allegedly represent. What Washington warned about in 1796 is on full display here in the backyard, folks.

Whatcha gonna do when Hulkamania runs wild in Little Washington, brother? Will it be a "conspiracy theory" or another deflection on the Tiny Toons?

Ray, you are right!

Irrespective of the the Plan of Organization; the older edition, or its most recent revision, the core of the Beaufort County GOP will NOT respect its contents enough to follow it.

The NC Republican Party adopted a new Plan of Organization during the NCGOP Convention in June 2026. This new plan requires revisions to the 2025 Beaufort County Plan of Organization. To date, I have seen no efforts by the BC Republican Party to modify the 2025 PoO to align with the new state plan.

There were statements made by the local party leadership that did not comply with the state 2024 state PoO in effect at the Beaufort County precinct meetings and the Beaufort County Republican Convention.

The rules stated before the state convention were not effective in February and March 2026. Hopefully the local Beaufort County Republican Party can come into compliance before the 2027 BC GOP County convention.

I must be a glutton for punishment, but here I am watching th Council meeting again. The one when Tyre raked Rorie over th coals for cutting off media comments. By this point, I'm thinking that when Rorie was fired, his 1st comment was THANK YOU!
But the whole night, I see character assassinations against Davis from th Council & even out of th audience. When I see Davis try to explain self, Brabo jumps, tells him he's out of order, while she allows Perreault & Horton to continue their hateful remarks against him.
My observations of this Council is that they r like a bunch of
cavemen grunting at each other abt whether th moon will rise that night. They dont have th intelligence or the vocabulary to communicate abt technical govt matters. The know it too, & so they beat around th bush constantly, especially Tyre...endlessly even confusing hmself. And Im straining to discern th pt.

The jokes on us!
Can we fire them ALL & start over again?

You remember from animal farm, "All pigs are equal, but some are more equal than others". But don't worry. Will Rodgers said, "We have the best politicians money can buy." Maybe Voltaire said it best, "History is only the pattern of silken slippers descending the stairs to the thunder of hobnail boots climbing upward from below". Let's pray that we can all wake up and help find, recruit, and elect competent people to lead us at our local, State and Federal Governments. An informed public would really help this.

Hood is right about ECU Health and other experts.
Once the fog from you eyes has been lifted, and you can acknowledge that people in high places will lie, deceive, manipulate, you can never go back again.

The fact is We The People are being treated (by Everyone) like cud-chewing herd animals with checkbooks. Everyone is lying to get what they WANT and so we lose against them everyday. However once your eyes, ears, and mind accept this, then its easy to know it when you see it. One can hear and see every subtle manipulation from "the experts."
Long ago wise pple have learned that there is "no honor" among thieves. Reagan said Trust but Verify. But th truth is we must be suspicious & verify. Most humans are polite & dont want to say to a fellow professional that we dont think your are being truthful, so as always they get to continue being deceptive. Its causes decay in society.
By the Way why is th audio so bad at th Commissioner meetings. Sometimes i think "they" dont want us to hear.

TruthBeTold: With all due respect, you have no credibility as a truth teller. You say, "The GOP is focused on the election for all Republicans." What a blatant lie. Garris identified herself under the heading Chairman Carolyn Garris of the Beaufort County Republican Party. She then publicly attacked an incumbent Republican candidate in an election season. The cat is out of the bag. She should at least apologize to Commissioner Deatherage and the general public. The Executive Committee should at least reprimand her. Frankly, the more appropriate actions would be an apology followed by a resignation or a dismissal.

Concerning the other charge: Many of us continued to vote for Kidwell despite his increasingly heavy-handed behavior locally within the Party and also within the community. I do not agree with his public attacks and demands on local conservatives in the press and bullying threats otherwise. I appreciate much of what he did in Raleigh as District 79 Representative - enough to continue voting for him. But I personally know several conservatives that did not vote for him this time around because of those escalating behaviors. Both he and Garris are fair game in the community on those issues. There is a different standard for the Party - there is supposed to be, but it isn't so in Beaufort County.

Oftentimes, you and your crowd seem delusional. As far as the truth goes, there is no truth in you.

The present Republican Executive Committee has never supported all Republican candidates. Giving lip service is not support. You back stab conservatives and support the Hood and Stan haters. Political piety does not look good on anyone.

TruthBeTold ... As an alias with the protection of anonymity, you impress me as someone that "carries a great deal of weight" ... You also appear to be someone that is not a native of Beaufort County, someone who knows nothing of one who practices exhibiting the humility of real intelligence rather than the full fusillade of your bombastic blasts, which is your standard.

The real truth: Stan Deatherage and Hood Richardson, over the previous 35 years, have done as much, or far more than anyone you know to further the Real Republican party here in Beaufort County. That is just a plain inarguable fact that you do not have the raw command of wisdom to be familiar with due to, as per your usual, "ignorance is bliss" syndrome.

It’s time for everyone to put on their big boy pants and quit whining. The GOP is focused on the election for all Republicans. It is this platform that continues to attack good conservatives like Kidwell. You only got on the executive committee to cause chaos and discord. You never volunteer nor contribute anything. Don’t worry, the GOP will continue to support all Republican candidates and get Republicans elected. The GOP has no time to waste on your drama. Keep moving forward folks, we have elections to win.
