The Town of Washington is becoming notorious for misuse of authority.
Conflict of interest is commonplace in Beaufort County lately. It is rare for anyone to recuse themselves from anything these days. Candidate Ashley Woolard as an active member of the Victory Committee is par for the course. Is he also a voting member of the Executive Committee? It really doesn't even matter, because the Victory Committee has illicitly set themselves up as a replacement for the Executive Committee. Consequently, no rule means anything anymore. Corruption is oozing everywhere.

People in this town misuse authority.
They retaliate when someone pays attention. They monitor pple who challenge them. They behave defensively instead of professionally. They don’t like being held accountable. When a city has already been caught: surveilling a political candidate violating boundaries abusing authority retaliating against someone who speaks up acting without proper oversight …it tells you something about the culture of the place. It tells u: They don’t handle scrutiny well. They don’t like being reported. They don’t like being challenged. They don’t like citizens documenting anything. They react quietly instead of professionally. They avoid paper trails. They use informal methods instead of official ones. I would suggest that corruption is disguised as incompetence, and IT IS WIDESPREAD!!

Carolyn Garris has been reported to the state republican committee for allowing libelous, defaming, and total false information be posted on the official Beaufort County Republican party Facebook page. She was personally served with cease and desist papers, refused to accept them, and walked away from the server. She will be removed as chairperson long before she has a chance to not run again.

Rules only work when they are instituted and executed uniformly. Ray Leary, you have long showed the wisdom and courage of a real Republican to state the obvious regarding the massive problems within the Beaufort County GOP's grand hypocrices, which are many and continual.

For all on this forum that castigate Commissioner Richardson for his relentless attacks on The Chairperson of the Beaufort County Republican Party, take a deep breath.
The Beaufort County Republican Party is in shambles. The NC Republican Party Plan of Organization is totally ignored in Beaufort County. Take a few minutes to read it. It is posted online at the NC Republican Party website. The 2024 NC Republican Party Plan has been ignored. The recently adopted 2026 NC Republican Party Plan is being ignored. A county plan of organization must comply with the state plan. The Chairperson and executive committee have clearly identified roles. These clearly identified roles are being ignored. Calling out these deficiencies during the minimally required executive committee meetings and on these posts is not ridiculously boring or tedious. It is an obligation of anyone demanding adherence to the party rules.

The obsession with Carolyn Garris by Mr. Richardson is as ridiculously boring as it is tedious. Apparently its pudding time at the assisted living center he ought to be staying at and he got confused again that anyone gave a damn about his personal likes and dislikes. Never in the history of Beaufort County has there been such a narcissistic horse's rear as Mr Richardson. Had there been no Victory Committee report this dinosaur would have declared another tinfoil hat conspiracy. So one is presented and he pouts like an extra heavy load in the depends. There is no pleasing this guy and it bewilders me why anyone would try. I'd rather watch paint dry.
