Music in the Streets: Chronicled, but we need your help. | Eastern North Carolina Now

This article concerns itself with the second 2011 edition of Music in the Streets. It is an exposition told in pictures, which on its own merit provides an historic account of that evening; however, the story can only be enhanced by a more thorough depiction of what is occurring in each picture. To accomplish this, I need your help.

That night I took the pictures, talked to some folks, but I took no notes on who was in my pictures or what the picture was about. I did this by pure intention. And here are some reasons for this.

First, it gives an aspiring musician the opportunity to talk about themselves - their art, their creative aspirations. BCN is one of the most important websites in the region, with a well-established traffic pattern. With our leading-edge script, which powers our site, we have the capability of capturing our articles for not only days and weeks, but for months and years. If you are published by us, there is a reasonably good chance that you will get seen by many folks from all over the world. We get a lot of traffic.
Music in the Streets encompasses Market Street and Main Street in downtown Washington, North Carolina. Here on North Market Street we see the fixtures of the impromptu festival: Classic cars and an interested crowd: Above and below.      images by Stan Deatherage

Secondly, my curiosity. I want to know who is motivated to manage and promote their message. The people who are serious about promoting their product, themselves, or both are the folks I want to help. "Help those who help themselves." It is truly the way of the world.

So if you see yourself or a friend in BCN and if you wish to comment about yourself or a friend, please send an email to stan@beaufortcountynow.com, or better yet, login by setting up an account and then make a comment or private message to admin, within the confines of our site. Either way, I will see your text and I will make sure your comments find their way to the right place.

This group of souls played music from my era - most especially, The Band - which gave me pause to linger a bit. I remember that they played "The Weight" - one of my favorites: Above and below. images by Stan Deatherage

The group asked for recommendations from the crowd and then gave it back to the crowd: Above. The drum circle found their own sound, there again on North Market Street: Below.      images by Stan Deatherage

This young lady had a nice voice. I need a little help on her name: Above. Maybe one of the folks from this crowd can help: Below     Images by Stan Deatherage
