Born: November 22, 1991 - October 22, 2014

Jimmy Carraway Hardison II, age 22, of Washington and Raleigh left this earthly world to meet his Lord on October 22, 2014.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM Sunday, October 26, 2014 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, October 27, 2014 at the Old Ford Church of Christ, 6040 U.S. Highway 17 North, Washington, conducted by Eddie Bowen. Burial will follow in the Hardison family cemetery, Thoroughfare Road, Washington.

He is survived by his parents Jimmy and Jennifer Hardison, two sisters, Sarah Hardison of Greenville, Anna Hardison, and two brothers Ryan and Nicholas Hardison of the home, his paternal grandmother Shirley Hardison, many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Cynthia Ann Wells, and his paternal grandfather, Joshua Hubert Hardison. All of whom loved and cherished this dear young man.

He was born November 22, 1991. The second of five children, he was a member of Old Ford Church of Christ. Throughout school, Jimmy excelled in sports as well as academics. Beloved by his teachers, friends, and coaches, he received many awards for his achievements and dedication. Baseball and soccer were his two favorite sports which he dearly loved. He was a Marshall, the 2010 recipient of the Watkins Athletic Award, and many other scholastic and athletic awards and honors.

After graduating in 2010 from Washington High School, he attended North Carolina State University majoring in Computer Science and Engineering. His love for sports continued at NC State where he played in various work leagues. His passion for computers and technology was inspiring. He interned at IBM and NetApp. He was looking forward to graduating in December Magma Cum Laude and continuing his employment with NetApp.

He could top and sucker tobacco with the best of them. He was an avid hunter throughout his life returning home frequently to hunt with his father and brothers.

He knew and loved the Lord and carried His will in his heart. His tenacity made no challenge too great. He was a loving, kind and respectful child who grew into determined and ambitious young man. His heart was noble, kind, righteous, and humble. He was honest and generous always giving sound and pure advice. He would give you everything he had if he knew you had a need.

He was known by all for his memorable smile. He deserved so much and worked so hard for everything in his life. We pray he finds the peace he deserved.

So many words are needed to describe the loss within his family and community. His memory and who he was will always live on in our hearts as he watches over us from heaven. Just as our love within our family for each other will last forever, so will our loss.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Jimmy C. Hardison II, Memorial Scholarship Fund Post Office Drawer 1628, Washington, NC 27889, or the charity of your choice.
