Weekend Full of Local Fun: Umbrella Market Farm Tour | Eastern North Carolina Now

    GREENVILLE, NC-The Uptown Greenville Umbrella Market announces the annual Umbrella Market Farm Tour will take place from Friday, June 26 to Sunday, June 28, with the following eight farms participating: Bennett Vineyards (Edward), Spring Run Market (Greenville), Renston Garden Market (Winterville), Simply Natural Creamery (Ayden), Parnell Farms (Williamston), Oak Wood Farm (Deep Run), Brock's Berries & Produce Farm (Winterville), and Southside Farms (Chocowinity).

    The Farm Tour promises to be a weekend filled with music, fresh produce, farm animals and more! All participating farms will be open to the public and will feature unique offerings providing attendees a chance to learn about our local food economy while learning more about farming.

    Each participating farm has created their own schedule for attendees to visit and experience a weekend filled with activities and events for children and adults alike. Attendees can also expect a variety of delicious treats from produce, pork chops, jams and jellies, and homemade ice cream.

    "The farmers are always excited to have Umbrella Market customers visit their farms," said Uptown Greenville Umbrella Market Manager, Robin Ashley. "The tour gives that extra personal touch that you can't get at a market. It is a great opportunity to see both the hard work and rewards of farming."

Bennett Vineyards

  • Bennett Vineyards creates wines with the Muscadine and Scuppernong grapes native to the region. Stop by for a tour and a tasting. Tastings will start at the top of every hour with the last tasting being one hour from closing. There is a special on a case of wine for $120.

  • The farm will offer any of their sausages for $5 per pound for farm tour guests. They have mild country sausage, bratwurst, chorizo and andouille. They will have a variety of fresh vegetables and homemade jams and jellies. Their newest addition Mason, a baby miniature donkey, will be on the farm. Also see their baby miniature mule, Jim, the goats, chickens, pigs and miniature horses too. There are cut outs for photo ops and a great yard to play in.
