Governor Pat McCrory celebrated the grand opening of Albemarle Boats in Edenton, N.C. today.

 Edenton, N.C.     Governor Pat McCrory celebrated the grand opening of Albemarle Boats in Edenton, N.C. today.

"This is a great day for our economy, for northeastern North Carolina, and for our entire state," Governor McCrory said. "Today's grand opening is a great step forward for a North Carolina company that recognizes our state's talented workforce, business-friendly climate and economic comeback."


 Albemarle Boats and Carolina Classic, both leading builders of the express fishing boat, merged in 2015 to become Albemarle Boats, The Carolina Classic. Both companies started in Edenton and have built over 3,600 boats.

 In the past several months, Albemarle Boats has increased its workforce by 20 percent.
