One of the Eastern United States's top Destinations - North Carolina's Outer Banks - Has an Outstanding Lodging Opportunity | Eastern North Carolina Now

It's a small, 8 unit bundle of timeshare units in the heart of Nags Head ... and it just got its Gold Crown designation on January 1, 2016.

Is Ocean Villas really qualified to have ascribed to it the timeshare "gold standard" of Gold Crown? As someone who usually picks the resorts they stay at by the quality of their RCI designation, I would have to admit ... yes.

If the obvious next question to this to this writer is: Please explain? I would simply retort:

    1)     The units are small, but neat, clean and efficient.
This is an appropriate representation of the quaint Ocean Villas resort from the third story deck of the neighbors porch across the street in May, 2016; thanks neighbor: Above.     photo by Stan Deatherage     Click image to enlarge.

These images (the units from the street at South Virginia Dare Trail, and the pool for just these 8 units) were made in 2004 at Ocean Villas - many digital camera's ago - much has change, and, therefore, I will upgrade when I visit Ocean Villas in early May this year: Above and below.     photos by Stan Deatherage
    2)     The resort is quiet, even in peak season ... it is only six units on one floor, with no upper floor; no neighbors walking around at all hours of the night, or too early in the morning.
The interior, as represented by these photos taken in February, 2016, of one of the four 2 bedroom units: Above and below.     photos by Stan Deatherage     Click images to expand.

    3)     The beach (this time share is Ocean Front) is outstanding, with high sand and plenty of it. The water ... well, its the Outer Banks, and it is the clearest, cleanest water this side of Florida, maybe better. I love to see the water change colors from aqua-green to aqua-blue depending on the sunshine, and the two major currents rushing in opposite directions just offshore - The Labrador and the Gulf Stream.
These images were made here in front of Ocean Villas - You can always find the combination of successful surfers and many feeding, feasting pelicans along these sandy shores: Above and below.     Images appear courtesy of the Across North Carolina Series on Beaufort County NOW.     photos by Stan Deatherage     Click images to expand.

    4)     No high rises in Nags Head signifies not so many people. There is nothing about Nags Head, or any of the other towns/villages dotting the sandy sliver of the Outer Banks that resembles a high rise, so the beaches are never overly populated.

    5)     It is the Outer Banks, a geological phenomenon, with its rich history, largest sand dunes of the United States's East Coast, many light stations (the most in eastern U.S.), the miles of unspoiled coastline in the expansive National Seashore, and Nags Head is right in the Middle of it (see the map below).

This bottom image was made just a few miles south at the Bodie Island Lighthouse.     Images appear courtesy of the Across North Carolina Series on Beaufort County NOW.     photos by Stan Deatherage     Click images to expand.

As you may have noticed, I mentioned more about the Outer Banks than I did the new Gold Crown resort, Ocean Villas, and there is a reason for that. For me, it is more of the experience of being in one of America's best places. In many respects, RCI considers the professed enjoyment of their members, as they are wont to express, as their top criteria for consideration of designation upgrades, or downgrades.

It is a great time here, and so much to do; so much fun to be had, and new experiences to be gathered for future memories. Ocean Villas and the Outer Banks are a dynamic combination to achieve such.
