Barack Obama 2012: The Amazing Story of the Incredible Shrinking President, Part II | Eastern North Carolina Now

Publisher's note: The President is under the profound suspicion that if he exclusively campaigns from September, 2011 until the first Tuesday in November, 2012, then he will "save or create" American jobs. In actuality, the President instinctively knows that his endeavor may save only one job - his own.

This post is the second in a series designed to showcase to what extent this President's desire to hold his office has completely overshadowed the intended purpose that he perform the duties of his elected office.

President Barack Obama's ongoing "soak the rich because they are evil campaign" is finally spawning a cop-cat movement, which was always his intended purpose. It is called the Occupy Wall Street movement, and it is getting glowing reviews from the most Liberal elements within the "Main Steam Media" at a "talking points" information outlet near you.

Shortly after his administration suffered the first financial downgrade, of an American President's economy, from Standard and Poor's rating agency on September 8, 2011, the President initiated his second stimulus package costing the American taxpayers 447 billion dollars, self-entitled the "American Jobs Bill." It is intended as the President's do-over to rescue his foundering economy after his excessive, and wildly ill-considered first stimulus package - the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, which included an estimated 787 billion of misspent taxpayer dollars.

Rather than becoming a positive point in President Obama's legacy of successful legislation, the initial "Stimulus Package" has become his bane as it is roundly viewed as an overwhelming symbol of his government's gross inefficiency. And as the nation's deficit spending grinds ever higher, poor and inefficient use of the public's money is the last thing our nation needed now. Conversely, the President desperately needs the second "American Jobs Bill" do-over to bolster the perception that his administration can make a difference in this Great Recession that has swamped his presidency from its onset. The problem for the President is that a majority of our nation's legislators, Republicans and some Democrats, believe that a second ill-considered "Stimulus Package" is the wrong direction for our government to attempt to influence our nation's economy. Obviously, President Obama disagrees.

Rather than working diligently to find some common ground with House Republicans to forge a stronger "American Jobs Bill" that will far greater benefit our struggling economy, the President does the opposite: He becomes a polarizing force. The House Republicans have, to date, passed 15 separate jobs related bills now languishing in the Democrat controlled Senate. If the President really cared about the economy, job creation, he would negotiate the most politically palatable elements of his American Jobs Bill with the many workable ideas represented in the multiple Jobs Bills passed by the US House of Representatives. Instead, he does all the wrong things.

Witness the President's compulsive need to constantly campaign, with friendly crowds of various union members as his backdrop. His message: "Congress pass this bill, because the richest among us don't pay enough taxes." Classic redistributionist policy.

What the President is not telling his needy public is that 47% of all Americans, which comprises the vast majority of his friendly "backdrop," do not pay any federal income tax. He also will not tell any of us that a good bit of the first "Stimulus Package" and the "American Jobs Bill" was, is, and moreover would remain, a slush fund for Loyal Democrats. The so called "Green Jobs Initiative" brought us the Solyndra scandal, and sadly, it is just the first uncovered tip of this scandal-ridden iceberg. Just more classic redistributionist policy, but with a seriously sinister motive.

As President Obama manically rushes from each friendly support group to another to demonize the successful among us, and simultaneously, all Republicans who do not believe in his ardent philosophy of redistribution of the more success oriented folk's wealth, he clearly reminds me of the impassioned Occupy Wall Street protesters. Ironically, for a group, like the "Occupiers," who rail against all manner of economic success, have not whined about "The Man" at the top - President Barack Obama. I find it odd that this great collective group of whiners (the "Occupiers"), who would rather protest about not having a fulfilling job rather than working at one, would not target the most powerful man in America. What if George W. Bush was president at this juncture? Would he escape their enduring wrath. Not hardly. Bush '43' was hardly a perfect president, but he believed in free markets. He subscribed to the optimism that Americans could improve their lot in life through hard work, initiative, and ingenuity. President Obama does not.

This is why there is a philosophical kinship between this sitting President and the incongruous message of the Occupy Wall Street movement. Both believe that one should pull the proverbial apple cart, while others ride. It is that simple.

And simply speaking, this is why President Obama's economic policies have not worked and will not work, without overhauling America's capitalist economic model. In this overwhelmingly apparent motive, I pray everyday that the President, as well as his comrades Occupying Wall Street, will fail. Regardless of the outcome of whether my prayers are answered, this President, and those occupying Wall Street and other American Cities appear petty, unimaginative and very small.

There is no "Hope" here. Only a full grown "Community Organizer," diminutive in thought and deed, desperately seeking other small, like minded people, like the "Occupiers," to aid his perpetual candidacy to continue America's decline.

This is not my America. Is it yours?
