NCGOP Files Ethics Commission Complaint on Rep. Hamilton for Illegal Use of State Resources to Solicit Money | Eastern NC Now

    RALEIGH, NC     It appears that Rep. Susi Hamilton of the NC House District 18, has violated the Ethical and Principle Guideline 7 of the NC Ethics Commission by using her official email and title as a North Carolina elected official to solicit funds for an outside entity, Democracy NC. Kami Mueller, of the North Carolina Republican Party will be filing an official State Ethics Commission Complaint Form for Ethics Violations.

    Democracy NC is an exclusively left-leaning organization that is suing the State of North Carolina over our common sense voter ID law.

    "This just shows the degree to which Democratic Party extremists will go to fight having a secure and fair electoral system. Let's be clear on what we are dealing with here: we have legislative Democrats who used taxpayer resources, an official state-issued email address and title, to solicit donations for far-left partisan group Democracy NC. Democracy NC has embarked on a radical witch hunt to sue the very taxpayers from which their lackey, Susi Hamilton, is illegally soliciting money. To add insult to injury, according to the Secretary of State's website, it appears that Democracy NC's charitable organization status expired in May," said Kami Mueller, spokeswoman for the North Carolina Republican Party who is filing the State Ethics Commission Formal Complaint.

    Mueller continued, "This is the ultimate insult to the great majority of North Carolinians who value free and fair elections and who play by the rules. How very 'Clintonian' of Rep. Susi Hamilton to operate as if the rules apply to everyone except for her and her radical pet groups of choice, like Democracy NC. All of Democracy NC's government-solicited corrupted funds should be forfeited immediately."
