Big Drug Bust with Large Cache of Stolen Firearms | Eastern North Carolina Now

    On 7-24-2018, The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office Drug Unit arrested Kendall Jermaine Warren, 35 years of age, of 215 Springs Road in Washington and Naikira Speller, 26 years of age, of 215 Spring Road in Washington.

    Warren was charged with Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Marijuana, Maintaining a Dwelling to Store and Sell a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Firearm by Felon and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Speller was charged with of Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

    Their arrest stemmed from Investigators making purchases of marijuana from Warren after receiving complaints. During the purchases of marijuana Investigators learned that Warren was using his brother's residence located at 102 Steeplechase Road in Washington as a stash house to hide marijuana.

    Investigators executed Search Warrants at 215 Springs Road in Washington and at 102 Steeplechase Road in Washington. Investigators and K-9 Bodi found approximately one pound of marijuana, digital scales, packaging material and a pistol located at 215 Springs Road.

    Investigators and K-9 Bodi found approximately eight (8) pounds of marijuana, digital scales, packaging material, an AK47 Rifle, three (3) Shotguns, a 22 Caliber Rifle and four (4) pistols at 102 Steeplechase Road in Washington. Two of the shotguns were reported to be stolen from Greenville. One of the pistols have been reported stolen from Washington.

    The total amount of marijuana seized is approximately nine (9) pounds with the estimated value of approximately $36,000.00

    Warren was confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $50,000.00 secured bond. Warren is currently on probation for Felony Possession of Marijuana.

    Speller was confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $8,000.00 secured bond.

    Sheriff Ernie Coleman stated that this investigation was initiated as the result of complaints from concerned parents and citizens about the sales of marijuana to teenagers in Beaufort County. As the result of this investigation not only was a large amount of marijuana seized but just as important there were several dangerous weapons removed from the streets that were recovered from break-ins. This shows that even marijuana is still a factor and contributes to the war on drugs and drug crimes in Beaufort County.
