News Release:

    On 1-11-2019, Investigators with the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office Drug Unit arrested Aidan Kelley, 18 years of age, of 41 Hudson Farm Avenue in Chocowinity, Thomas Kelley, 53 years of age, of 41 Hudson Farm Avenue in Chocowinity, Ava Kelley, 42 years of age, of 41 Hudson Farm Avenue in Chocowinity, Gary Taylor, 32 years of age, of 3247 Chandler Road in Chocowinity and Michael Baker, 35 years of age, of 53 Edgewood Drive in Chocowinity.

    Aidan Kelley was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Aidan Kelley was detained in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $5,000.00 secured bond.

    Thomas Kelly was charged with Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Methamphetamine, Maintaining a Dwelling for the Purpose of Storing and Selling a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Thomas Kelley was confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $10,000.00 secured bond.

    Ava Kelley was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Ava Kelley was confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $7,500.00 secured bond.

    Gary Taylor was charged with Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Methamphetamine, Possession of Marijuana Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Gary Taylor was confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $7,500.00 secured bond.

    Michael Baker was charged with Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Methamphetamine, Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Michael Baker was confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $8,500.00 secured bond.

    Their arrest stemmed from Investigators receiving complaints that Methamphetamine was being sold and used at 41 Hudson Farm Avenue in Chocowinity. Investigator established surveillance and stopped a vehicle driven by Aidan Kelley that departed from the residence. K-9 Bodi alerted on the vehicle and a search was conducted. Investigators found a plastic bag containing Methamphetamine.

    Investigators responded to the residence to speak with Aidan Kelly's parents about the Methamphetamine that was found in the vehicle. When Investigators arrived, they witnessed Thomas Kelley, Michael Baker and Gary Taylor standing together in the front yard. Investigators witnessed Gary Taylor throw a plastic bag containing Methamphetamine on the ground. Investigators applied for and received a Search Warrant to search 41 Hudson Farm Avenue in Chocowinity.

    Investigators executed the Search Warrant and found more plastic bags containing Methamphetamine, plastic bags containing marijuana, a jar containing marijuana, digital scales, snorting straws and smoking pipes.

On Tuesday, April 7, 2026, Deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call in a wooded area near Pamlico Plantation in Washington NC.

On December 22, 2025, Deputies from the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in the Aurora/Richlands area for a report of a foul odor coming from inside a rental property where a tenant had previously moved out.
On December 5, 2025, Deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit arrested 39-year-old, Arnold Gerard Whitney of Belhaven, NC on multiple drug and weapon charges.
On Tuesday December 9th, 2025, 33-year-old Ryan Austin Stalls pled guilty in Beaufort County Superior Court to the following charges:
