    Mr. Cedric Erroll Woolard, age 90, a resident of Washington, NC died Wednesday July 3, 2019 at Vidant Beaufort Hospital.

    A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday July 6, 2019 at First Church of Christ in Washington officiated by Ray West. Entombment will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. Reuben Everett, Mitchell Everett, Gilbert Everett, Dean Taylor, John Woolard and Larry Mobley will serve as pallbearers.

    The family will receive friends 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the sanctuary of First Church of Christ on Saturday.

    Mr. Woolard was born in Washington County on March 19, 1929 son of the late Archie Leon Woolard and the Late Pearl Boyd Woolard. He was a 1947 graduate of Bath High School. Following high school, he served his country in the U.S. Navy. On September 29, 1951 he married the love of his life, Barbara Dean Williams who survives. Mr. Woolard was a service manager at Gregory Poole of Washington and at the time of his retirement in 1991, he was their product support representative. He was a true outdoorsman who loved the water, camping in his motor home and mowing grass. Mr. Woolard was a very active member of First Church of Christ having served as Sunday School superintendent, deacon and trustee of the church. He was also was a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class.

    Surviving along with his wife Barbara of the home are two sons: Randy E. Woolard (Carla) of Winston Salem and Keenan L. Woolard (Debra) of Bath; three sisters: Louise Broughton (Floyd) of Virginia Beach, Linda Blake of Bath and Judy Arthur of Bath; three grandchildren: Michael (Jennifer), Kelly (Jim) and Kristin (Kevin) and five great grandchildren: Grace, James, Nora, Noah and Tyler.

    In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the charity of one's choice.
