Obama makes things up and sees nothing wrong with not being honest if in his mind he can justify it

    Commentary

Obama made up a story in his book about a former girlfriend. So what?

We think the answer to that is that it should be reason enough for noone to ever vote for him again.

It's not the story about a fictitious girlfriend that's significant but rather it is his attitude toward the truth that is what is so important. If being truthful is not important in one instance how can we have confidence it will be in other, perhaps much more important, instances? The answer is: We can't.

We can't trust him. And we can't trust him not because of this fabrication but because it is just one of a long string of examples that he is untrustworthy.

All of us occasionally are untruthful. Nobody is perfect, or perfectly honest. But most of us try to be. That is the way most people live their lives. Most people try to be honest. Obama does not.

He is one of those people who live their lives according to Machiavellian principles such as "the ends justify the means."

We have seen another example just this week. Obama is in re-election trouble. He has few successes upon which he can run his re-election campaign. But one such success is the removal of Osama bin Laden from the world scene. Yet that event was more the result of really professional men and women in our military and intelligence communities who did their job well--and quietly--more than it was about one man--any man--and any one decision. For Obama to try to take credit for "getting bin Laden" would be like the 911 operator trying to take credit for saving the life of a person who was rescued by a brave fireman who had been dispatched by the 911 operator.

We could go on and on. And of course a list of instances of dishonesty would have to include deceptions and distortions as well as blatant lies. The list would include a bogus birth certificate and other background records such as passport records, college records and the like. It is not so much the authenticity of the records, but Obama deliberate attempts to conceal those records. But it would also include such things as his predominate justification for his failures of trying to blame someone else for his mistakes and failures.

For example, when you listen to Obama campaign on the economy he talks about the mess he inherited. Of course the answer to that is that he asked to inherit what he got. He told us he could fix those problems. The fact is he has had three years and the economy is worse now than it was when he took over. He is responsible. Period. That he will not accept responsibility is indicative of the same kind of thinking style that caused the fabrication of this fictional "compressed" girlfriend. And note that he tried to justify it by saying that he did so because of how he would be perceived. The political consequences, in his way of thinking, justified not being honest.

The "dream we got from our father" was that "a man is as good as his word." Obviously that means that Barack Obama is not a very good man, and he can never be a good president because of that fact. Character matters. In that job, character matters a great deal.

So what we are really saying is that the man is not qualified to be president of the United States. He is not qualified because character matters. And Barack Obama comes up way short on character. It is time for him to spend all of his time writing books of fiction. And when he does, librarians will know how to classify his literature.

Footnote: It should be noted that some of the Elite Media have tried to once again carry Obama's water for him by pointing out that in the first edition (but apparently not subsequent editions) a forward notation was made that some of the characters in the book were "composites" and certain events were out of chronological order. Say what? What's the point?

This, in our opinion simply amplifies the distortion. Obama's "New York girlfriend" which they now came is a "composite" was described in minute detail in "Dreams From My Father." Why? What was the point of that? The essential question is: Why not just tell the true story? But that puts us back to where we started.
