Gebhardt's initial contribution will be to benefit the state's first Veterans Treatment Court. On the contribution, Gebhardt offered the following:

"Our first donation will be to benefit the Harnett County Veterans Treatment Court, through Combat VTC, Inc., which is the 501c3 that supports the Veterans Treatment Court."

Veterans Treatment Court program director Mark Teachey offered the following:

"Our family has always been about service over self. We have always sought ways to better the lives of others, through military service, our work in State Government, and providing care for others, as my wife Carrie is a nurse in Fayetteville. Our latest endeavor has been offering ourselves to serve as Lieutenant Governor of this great state," said Gebhardt "We are so fortunate to have such a great program for our veteran population here in North Carolina. Our family has been tremendously blessed. It would be an honor for our family to continue giving back."
