Rosa Jane Whichard McRoy

February 1, 1943 - June 11, 2020
    Mrs. Rosa Jane Whichard McRoy, age 77, a resident of Washington, NC, died Thursday June 11, 2020 at Clara Manor.

    A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday June 14 ,2020 in the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and will be officiated by Rev. Joe Ange, burial will follow in the Dixon Family Cemetery. Jason Butler, Owen Perry, Bobby Perry, Daniel Wayne, Carl Dunn, and Tracy McRoy will serve as pallbearers.

    Mrs. McRoy was born in Pitt County on February 1, 1943 to the late Kenneth Paul Whichard, Sr. and Rosa Vainwright Whichard.

    Survivors include her daughters, Connie Gamber and husband William of Washington, Sandy Wayne and husband Tony of Vanceboro; three grandchildren, Laura Ann Wayne of Chocowinity, Melissa Nicole Gamber of Washington, Daniel Ray Wayne and wife Destinee of Chocowinity; two great grandchildren, Colton Ray Wayne, Elizabeth Ann Wayne; a sister, Betsy Whichard of Stantonsburg, and a brother, Kenneth Paul Whichard, Jr and wife Coral of Greenville.

    She is preceded in death by her husband, Edmond David McRoy, Jr.

    The family will receive friends Sunday June 14, 2020 from 1:00 PM until the funeral hour at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and other times at the home of Laura Ann Wayne, 394 Old New Bern Rd., Chocowinity, NC 27817.

    In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA 23060-9979 or to Beaufort County Medical Center Foundation, c/o Lights of Love Annual Fund, 628 East 12th Street, Washington, NC 27889.
