Press Release:

Greenville, N.C. — As voters in North Carolina's Third Congressional District look toward the November election, many have been asking Congressman Greg Murphy his thoughts on the all important choice for President of the United States. Murphy has been pointing out what he sees as the clear choice of President Donald Trump over presumptive Democrat challenger Joe Biden while also noting what is at stake for our nation. With this week's announcement California Senatot Kamala Harris will be Biden's choice for Vice President, Murphy says the stakes have become even higher.

"I've told folks about the extreme consequences of the upcoming election," Murphy said. "The possibility of having Kamala Harris one heartbeat from the Presidency has taken this to a new level of extreme."

Murphy says that the choice of Harris has moved the Biden campaign even farther to the political left and that far left liberal agenda could have serious consequences for America.

"Harris has a long record of being on the wrong side of key issues, including her support of open borders and most recently, her decision to approve of Los Angeles' plan to cut its police force by $150 million. These are not the values of the majority of Americans," Murphy noted.

Murphy is one of the few practicing medical doctors in Congress and says that Harris' stances on key healthcare issues may be what troubles him most. "Kamala Harris supports eliminating private health insurance in favor of a government run system, even if individuals are happy with their current health plan." Murphy continued, "Harris was one of the first members of the Senate to co-sponsor Bernie Sanders' single payer Medicare for All plan, which would have cost taxpayers $32 trillion. Harris' efforts in Congress could seriously undermine our American healthcare system. Imagine what she could do in the White House."

Murphy says he has been campaigning much harder for the President than he has for his own Congressional seat. "I hope my record of service speaks for itself. But the reality is this year's Presidential election is a pivotal point in our history. With many Americans concerned about Joe Biden's health issues and how that might hinder him from serving out an elected term, the prospect of Kamala Harris in the Oval Office could shake the very foundation of our great Republic."
