    Mr. William "Gary" Holland age 71, a resident of 327 Windley Rd Washington, NC died peacefully January 15, 2021 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, NC.

    A graveside funeral service will be held 2pm Monday January 25, 2021 at Oakdale Cemetery.

    Mr. Gary was born in Beaufort County on April 20, 1949 son of Joe Paul Holland and Delora Holland Fortesque. He retired from Patheon/DSM in 2017. He was a veteran of the US Navy and longtime member of Clark's Neck Volunteer Fire Department. He married Geneva O'Merry on April 22, 1978, who preceded him in death January 26, 2013.

    Surviving Mr. Holland is a son; BJ and wife Jessica; grandchildren Brianna, Matthew, Sofia, Garris, Blayne, Stevie, Mary-Elizabeth, and great-granddaughter Me'Lanie. Extended family Toby Cole(Renee) and three grandchildren; Amanda Whitley(Scott) and four grandchildren and one great granddaughter; two brothers Darrell Holland(Sherrie), Waverly Holland(Judy) and mother-in-law June O'Merry. Mr. Gary was beloved "Papa" and "Uncle Gary" to numerous nieces and nephews as well as many other children and grandchildren during his lifetime.

    In addition to his wife of 34 years, Mr. Holland was predeceased by his parents Joe & Delora Holland, sister Barbara Beddard, father-in-law Daniel O'Merry and brother-in-law Mike O'Merry.

    The family will receive friends on Sunday January 24, 2021 from 2pm- until and immediately following the service at the home.

    In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in memory of Mr. Gary to be sent to Clark's Neck Fire Department Station 2, 3797 Wharton Station Rd Washington.
