Dismal Voter Contact For Democrats | Eastern North Carolina Now

News Release:

    Good afternoon,

In case you missed it, New North Carolina Project, the Stacy Abrams-inspired group is taking L's left and right. Their mission to register and mobilize voters started with lofty goals, but as they've realized the lack of enthusiasm from Democrat voters, they've lowered their goals and are celebrating dismal voter contact numbers that Republicans have consistently outpaced.

Here's a timeline of the embarrassing numbers coming from the New North Carolina Project:

    October 8, 2021

The New North Carolina Project sets a goal of mobilizing 100,000 new voters to the polls.

    January 29, 2022

After struggling to meet its original goal, the New North Carolina Project lowers its voter mobilization numbers to 50,000 voters.

    December 28, 2021

The New North Carolina Project sets a goal of knocking 250,000 doors per month.

    January 13, 2022

The New North Carolina Project lowers its goal to 10,000 doors per month.

    February 3, 2022

The New North Carolina Project announces dismal numbers. In three months, they've only knocked 350 doors and made 7,930 phone calls.

For context, in just ONE WEEK, the Republican National Committee (RNC) field team in North Carolina held over 60 training sessions and engaged more than 1,000 volunteers through Republican Leadership Initiative (RLI) trainings, door launches or phone banking events in every region of the state. In January, the team also surpassed 100,000 voter contacts.

"Rather than drawing inspiration from hypocritical Stacy Abrams , the New North Carolina Project ought to take notes from Republicans. When you compare the grassroots numbers coming from the RNC so early into the cycle versus the New North Carolina Project's dismal efforts to mobilize voters, it reinforces the momentum Republicans have and the lack of enthusiasm coming from the Left as we head into the midterm elections."-RNC Spokeswoman Alex Nolley
