Leftist journalist Susan Glasser taunted Fox News upon hearing that a journalist from the network was killed while covering the war in Ukraine.

Glasser is a staff writer for The New Yorker and a CNN analyst.

"Horrible news to report: Fox cameraman Pierre Zakrzewski was killed in the same attack that wounded correspondent Benjamin Hall," John Roberts reported. "I worked with Pierre many times around the world. He was an absolute treasure. Sending our most heartfelt prayers to Pierre's wife and family."

Quote-tweeting the news, Glasser commented, "What a tragedy. A cameraman died covering the war for a TV network that airs a pro-Putin propagandist as its top-rated primetime host."

"So grateful for the heroic work that Pierre and all the journalists, Ukrainian and foreign, have been doing risking their lives to show us the horror of this war," she added. "Makes the years of lies and propaganda so much harder to take-there are truly deadly consequences."

Glasser just days earlier praised journalists for covering the war in Ukraine.

"Please spare a thought today for the courageous journalists, Ukrainian and foreign, risking their lives to tell the world the story of this hell war," she posted.

Conservative politico Natalie Johnson, adding a screengrab of Glasser's tweet about Fox News, responded to the post, "Unless they work for Fox."

Managing editor of NewsBusters Curtis Houck also highlighted Washington Post media columnist Margaret Sullivan approving of Glasser's tweet.

"Washington Post media columnist Margaret Sullivan sees no problem with mocking the death of a journalist in Ukraine simply because he worked for Fox News," he commented.

Fox News anchor Bill Hemmer on Tuesday announced Zakrzewski's death on-air.

"We've got some very difficult news to share with you now," he told viewers. "Fox News cameraman Pierre Zakrzewski has died in Ukraine. He was working with our Benjamin Hall when incoming fire hit their vehicle outside of Kyiv."

Hall was hospitalized following the incident but has been safely removed from Ukraine, a Fox News report said Wednesday.

"Pierre Zakrzewski was an absolute legend at this network and his loss is devastating," Hemmer continued. "He has been with us for years covering wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and Syria."

"Our CEO, Suzanne Scott, noted a few moments ago that Pierre jumped in to help out with all sorts of roles in the field - photographer, engineer, editor and producer and he did it all under immense pressure and with tremendous skill," he said. "The president of Fox, Jay Wallace, says that everyone always felt an extra sense of reassurance when they arrived on the scene, and they saw that Pierre was there. He was a professional, he was a journalist, and he was a friend."

"We here at the Fox News Channel want to offer our deepest condolences to Pierre's wife, Michelle, and his entire family. Pierre Zakrzewski was only 55 years old, and we miss him already," Hemmer added.

Tragically, local producer Oleksandra "Sasha" Kuvshynova, who was working with Fox News, was killed in the same incident as Zakrzewski, Fox News reported. She was just 24 years old.
