truck bomb takes out bridge over Kerch straight
The bridge over the Kerch Strait, which connects Crimea and Russia, and is the only bridge to do so, has been destroyed by a truck bomb. A section of the bridge has collapsed. The explosion also ignited fuel in tank cars on a train passing alongside. This was done on Putin's birthday, and a Ukrainian official joked that they had given Putin "an explosive birthday present". The three billion dollar bridge is a key Russian supply line. Gas lines immediately formed all over Crimea.
Meanwhile, in Ukraine's southern offensive toward Kherson, Ukrainian forces advanced 12 miles in 48 hours, pressing two attacks, one from the northern end of the Kherson oblast and the other along the Black Sea coast.
With all of the equipment Ukraine captured from Russia in the latest counteroffensives, together with previous equipment captured, Russia has now become Ukraine's biggest arms supplier.

There are lots of theories on this. Russia says it was a truck bomb. Others say a wave was noticed in the water under the bridge just before the explosion and Ukraine is known to have built small drone submarines. A British general who is an expert in logistics of moving ammunition says he suspects the Russians just got sloppy with an ammunition shipment, The Daily Express of London reported his analysis: www.express.co.uk
