Raymond Harvey “Rusty” Carrow

    Mr. Raymond Harvey "Rusty" Carrow, age 88, a resident of Carrow Lane, Chocowinity, died Thursday, February 23, 2023, at his home.

    The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Saturday, February 25, 2023, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington and other times at the home.

    Funeral services will be held 4:00 PM Sunday, February 26, 2023, from the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington, conducted by Pastor Joe Ange and Pastor Gerald Bullock. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens.

    The following will serve as pallbearers: Daniel Carrow, Matthew Carrow, Stephen Carrow, Jeffrey Carrow, Kevin Carrow and Bill Clark. Honorary pallbearers will be Perry Carrow, David Allen Marslender, Chad Jones, Cale Manning, and Troy Ives.

    Mr. Carrow was born in Beaufort County on October 18, 1934. He was the son of the late Charlie Norman Carrow and Myrtle Maebell Edwards Carrow. Mr. Carrow was a retired farmer. He was a member of Union Chapel Free Will Baptist Church in Chocowinity, where he served as Deacon and Sunday School teacher. Mr. Carrow enjoyed traveling, especially to the mountains and to the Los Angeles Dodgers Spring Training Camps.

    On January 25, 1953, Mr. Carrow married the former Melba Ray Tetterton, who survives.

    Surviving with his wife are three sons, Raymond "Ricky" Carrow, Jr. of Chocowinity, Tony Ray Carrow and wife, Lisa Jane Carrow of Pinetown, Paul Wilson Carrow and wife Paula Carrow of Washington; three grandsons, Shawn Benjamin Carrow, Daniel Christopher Carrow, Matthew Joseph Carrow; five great grandchildren; sister, Ernestine Armstrong, and three brothers, Snody Carrow, Rayvon Carrow, and Johnnie Carrow.

    In addition to his parents, Mr. Carrow was preceded in death by two brothers, Charlie "Poss" Carrow, Arthur Ray Carrow and two sisters, Christine Marslender and Delores Cusick.
