Dem Causes Hilarity By Asking Twitter Files Authors About A ‘Threesome’ | Eastern North Carolina Now

A Democratic Congresswoman inadvertently caused hilarity in a hearing on Capitol Hill when she asked two journalists who revealed the Twitter Files about their partner in the effort.

Prior to Rep. Sylvia Garcia (D-TX) asking her unintentionally ribald question, she appeared to follow the lead of Virgin Islands Democrat Del. Stacey Plaskett into pressuring journalists Matt Taibbi and Michael Shellenberger to reveal their confidential sources.

"When was the first time Mr. Musk approached you about writing the Twitter files?" Garcia asked Taibbi.

As Taibbi started to answer, she interrupted him, saying, "I just need a date, sir."

"I can't give it to you, unfortunately, because this is a question of sourcing, and I don't give up my - I'm a journalist and I don't reveal my sources," Taibbi answered.

"It's not a question of sources; it's a question of chronology," Garcia said.

"No, that's a question of sourcing," Taibbi calmly replied.

"You earlier said that someone had sent you through the internet some message about whether or not you would be interested in some information," Garcia pressed.

"Yes, and I referred to that person as a source," Taibbi stated.

"So you're not gonna tell us when Musk first approached you," Garcia tried again.

"Again, Congressman, you're asking a journalist to reveal a source," Taibbi answered.

"Then you consider Mr. Musk to be the direct source of all of this?" Garcia asked.

"No, now you're trying to get me to say that he is the source," Taibbi retorted.

"Well, he is or he isn't; if you're telling me you can't answer because it's your source, well, then the only logical conclusion is that he is, in fact, your source," Garcia insisted.

"You're free to conclude that," Taibbi said.

"You can't have it both ways, but let's move on -" Garcia said.

"No, he can, because he's a journalist," Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) chimed in.

Later, Garcia asked Shellenberger, "In your answer, you said you were invited by a friend, Bari Weiss?"

"My friend Bari Weiss," Shellenberger said.

"So this friend works for Twitter?" Garcia asked.

    "She's a journalist," Taibbi interjected.

"Sir, I didn't ask you a question," Garcia said. "I'm now asking Mr. Shellenberger a question."

"Yes, ma'am, Bari Weiss is a journalist," Shellenberger said.

"You work in concert with her?" Garcia queried. She then asked, "Do you know when she was first contacted by Mr. Musk?"

    "I don't know," Shellenberger answered.

"You don't know," Garcia mused, then asked the question that set the journalists and others in the room to start laughing: "So you're in this as a threesome?"

After Garcia finished, Jordan spoke up.

"I do think it's worth pointing out that I have cosponsored, I think some of my colleagues have cosponsored the SHIELD Act in previous Congresses with Democrats to protect [against] what we see them trying to do today," he fired. "Protect journalists from having to reveal their sources to government. That used to be a shared position in the Congress. Unfortunately, as we're seeing now -multiple occasions - it's not the position anymore."

Where do you stand on the wanton censorship by Big Tech Platforms, while retaining their Section 230 carveout indemnifying them for Slander /Defamation lawsuits and Copyright infringements?
Big Tech Platforms have the right to Censor all speech providing they voluntarily relinquish their Section 230 Carveout.
Big Tech Platforms DO NOT have the right to Censor any speech, while retaining multiple indemnifications by virtue of the Section 230 Carveout.
I know nothing of this 230 talk, but "I do love me some social media".

Considering how abjectly corrupt and civilly abusive the Left has become regarding the corrosive effect of their elected leaders; their entrenched and ruling bureaucracy; employing their failed Education Industry as Indoctrinators; their collusive private sector operators, such as the terminally discredited Legacy Media and Big Tech censorship of Free Speech: What will be the best course forward for hardworking Middle Americans, including the Patriot Class?
Withdraw from society, go underground and plan for a resurgence when it is feasible to do so.
Work within the confines of better policy by the People's government, once good sense and sanity is restored in the electorate at large, to achieve such.
Are you a crazy, nut-job Insurrectionist? Everything is perfect within our plan to achieve our intended goals for the Socialist Left.
Secession to form a true Constitutional Republic.

The moral here is: Never underestimate the bonecrushing stupidity of a Democratic Socialist politician when they have misidentified that their cause is righteous, and that their pathetic, unwavering narrative must be preserved at all costs.

Here you have a Leftist elected fool attacking Liberal Journalists, who still possess the temerity to advocate that the First Amendment matters.
