It is unclear who, exactly, goes to Democratic officials for parenting advice, considering their first inclination when hearing you are pregnant tends to be recommending abortion.

But for some reason, the lieutenant governor of Minnesota recently offered advice on what to do when your child is out of the womb.

On Thursday, The Daily Wire reported that Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan recently spouted radical gender ideology to a crowd, stating, "When our children tell us who they are, it is our job as grown-ups to listen and to believe them. That's what it means to be a good parent."

Her comments came in defense of an executive order signed by Democratic Governor Tim Walz that legally protected things such as puberty blockers, hormone therapies, and more for minors.

To illustrate how dumb that is, let's use a comparison rather than address radical gender ideology directly.

If your toddler came to you saying he or she is are a bird, you might play along with it and encourage them to use their imagination. If that 2-year-old were about to jump from the roof because he thought he could fly, you wouldn't play along with it anymore. If you actually believed your child was a bird, then your son would get seriously hurt or worse - not unlike the sex-change surgeries Flanagan touts.

Of course, this is also horrendous advice for other aspects of life not related to gender dysmorphia.

If your son came to you saying, "Mom, I'm a failure," you wouldn't say, "That's right, son!"

"Good parents" would not affirm their son's statement that he is a failure. They would likely encourage that child to try, try, and try again until he or she succeeds. Mistakes don't define people, their tenacity to overcome their failures does.

Or, if a daughter said, "I'm never going to get an A on this test," a good parent wouldn't let their daughter wallow in self-pity. A mom or dad would likely tell that daughter, "Not with that attitude you won't," and help their child study.

So, if your son comes to you saying he is a girl because he likes to play with dolls, or your daughter says she is a boy because she likes to play sports, how is it good parenting to "believe" them?

Isn't it more prudent to say, "Well, son, some boys like to play with dolls, and that's okay; It doesn't make you a girl. And some girls like to play sports, but that doesn't make you a boy."

Yet leftists like Flanagan encourage parents to abdicate their duty of guiding their children through life.

As Daily Wire host Matt Walsh put it, "No it is not our job as grownups to simply believe whatever our children say. In fact, our job very often is to do exactly the opposite."

The views expressed in this piece are the author's own and do not necessarily represent those of The Daily Wire.

It has been far too many years since the Woke theology interlaced its canons within the fabric of the Indoctrination Realm, so it is nigh time to ask: Does this Representative Republic continue, as a functioning society of a self-governed people, by contending with the unusual, self absorbed dictates of the Woke, and their vast array of Victimhood scenarios?
Yes, the Religion of Woke must continue; there are so many groups of underprivileged, underserved, a direct result of unrelenting Inequity; they deserve everything.
No; the Woke fools must be toppled from their self-anointed pedestal; a functioning society of a good Constitutional people cannot withstand this level of "existential" favoritism as it exists now.
I just observe; with this thoughtful observation: What will happen "when the Vikings are breeching our walls;" how do the Woke react?
