Nationally syndicated radio host Dana Loesch tore into President Joe Biden's recent comments about firearms, accusing him of delivering "the stupidest thing I've ever heard a politician say about guns."

Loesch, a former spokesperson for the National Rifle Association and a longtime defender of Second Amendment rights, was referring to Biden's claim that adding a brace to a pistol would somehow change the caliber of the bullet coming from said pistol.

Touting his own party's efforts with regard to recent gun control legislation, Biden claimed that they had "made it harder for people buy stabilized brief- braces."

The president then went on to suggest that doing nothing more than adding braces to a firearm would accomplish the physically impossible task of changing the gun's caliber.

"Put a pistol on a brace, it turns into a gun, makes it more, you can have a higher-caliber weapon, higher-caliber bullet coming out of that gun," Biden said.

Loesch said otherwise, however, tweeting, "This is the stupidest thing I've ever heard a politician say about guns. A plastic brace on a gun does not change the CALIBER OF THE GUN or the rate of fire."

And she was far from the only critic who weighed in on the president's claim.

"I put a pistol on a brace, and when it turned into a gun with a higher-caliber, a higher-caliber bullet came out of that gun and made this hole in 26inch steel," @stevensongs joked.

"Oh my. This is elder abuse," Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) added.

"This makes NO sense. Is he okay?" former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee asked.

"Biden's word salads are hilarious but make no mistake, this doddering old man is nothing more than a display of the Dems power," retired Green Beret Joe Kent said. "The Dems don't need a reason or legal standing to brand law abiding citizens felons, they don't even need a charismatic leader, they have raw power."

"According to Joe Biden, if you put 'a pistol on a brace ... it turns into a gun.' Braces also magically change the caliber of that gun and allow different bullets to shoot out of it. This is one of the most insane things I have ever heard him say. Where are the fact checkers?!?" another tweeted.

The Republican-led House of Representatives passed a bill this week aimed at overturning Biden's pistol-brace ban - but that bill is expected to stall in the Democrat-controlled Senate, and President Biden has promised a veto if the measure were to pass.
