Press Release:

    Hi there,

If you are covering the first anniversary of the Dobbs decision, please consider the following statement from the Republican National Committee:

"One year ago, the Supreme Court's Dobbs decision rightfully overturned flawed judicial precedent. The decision has saved countless lives and set America on a positive course after decades of shameful abortion on-demand practices that put us in a category with China and North Korea. The idea that prominent Democrats refuse to condemn late-term abortions, when babies can feel pain and survive outside the womb, is downright dystopian. That's why Republicans need to tout our positions proudly. We are the pro-women, pro-family party." -- Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel

    Background:

  • Read RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel's op-ed on the anniversary of the Dobbs decision.
  • Last cycle, the RNC commissioned a national poll on the issue, which was shared with campaigns, consultants, and our sister committees last summer.
  • Polling shows that when the choice is between a Democrat who wants zero abortion restrictions and a Republican who supports protecting life at 15 weeks, Republicans win by 22 points.
  • Seventy-two percent of voters - including 60% of Democrats - support protecting unborn children after 15 weeks.

With Roe v Wade (originated in 1973) overturned by the US Supreme Court, thereby allowing decisions on abortion legislation completely returned to the states: Where do you find your position on such a "Life and Death" issue for the American People?
Yes, I approve of the US Supreme Court's decision to reinstate this "medical" issue back to the states' legislative responsibility to regulate.
No, I believe that every woman should have complete access to abortion on demand.
This issue is far beyond my intellectual capacity to understand.
