Princess leads mass German protests against green energy boondoggle | Eastern NC Now

Angela Merkel's "Energiewende" (energy transition) was the world's first national campaign to move to relying on wind and solar for electricity, and it has given Germany the highest national residential electric rates in the world, three times what we pay in North Carolina.  Bloomberg estimates that pushing to the next stage that the Social Democrat led government, in which the far left Green Party is a coalition partner, demands would cost the German economy a trillion euros.

The German people are rapidly waking up to the impact on them and their economy and are protesting against the green agenda.  Interestingly, one of the leaders of this movement is an aristocrat and businesswoman once dubbed "the pink princess", Princess Gloria von Thurn und Taxis.  Princess Gloria was born a countess and married the head of a dynasty that had ruled an independent princely state up until the Napoleonic Wars, from whom she is now widowed.

Princess Gloria describes the impact of the green agenda on German people as "worse than East German communism" and she describes climate change as "a huge swindle".  She is calling upon Germans to vote out the parties responsible for the green boondoggle through the election process.

The political party that has taken up the call to end the green boondoggle in Germany is the populist / nationalist anti-immigration Alternativ fur Deutschland, which has surged into second place nationally in the polls in the last few months and is running first in the states of eastern Germany.  Ironically, the party which in the past has been most critical of Merkel's Energiewende, the Free Democrats, are now the odd couple partner in the Social Democrat led government, and have taken a beating in the polls and in state and local elections as a result of that alignment with the Social Democrats.

We in North Carolina are going to need a similar fightback, thanks to RINO House Speaker Tim Moore and RINO Senate President Pro Tem Phil Berger ramming through NC's own Green New Deal, HB951, in which this district's RINO Senator Jim Perry played a big role in foisting it upon us.  Where will we find our Princess Gloria von Thurn und Taxis?  NC is facing our own wind / solar boondoggle and it has already given us an 18% rate increase before it has even really gotten started much.
