One of the big rackets in illegal immigration is abuse of the asylum rules, and this is a problem both in America and in Europe. Economic migrants, who have no legitimate claim to asylum make claims to it anyway to get their foot in the door. Indeed, in both America and Europe, most illegal aliens who claim asylum and actually go through the process to try to claim it are found not to be entitled to it. Even more just disappear once they get over the border.
As other parties in Germany have toughened their positions on illegal immigration due to public outrage over what is going on, two cabinet ministers from the Free Democrat Party, a partner in Germany's center-left coalition have taken strong stands in an op-ed published in the major German newspaper Die Welt (The World). Germany's Finance Minister and Justice Minister have called for massive cuts to migrant benefits to discourage them from coming or staying, and for stronger measures to keep them out in the first place. They call it "a new realpolitik in the area of irregular migration."
Noting that asylum rules did not require another country to accept asylum seekers if they were already in a safe country, the two cabinet members called for reducing the benefits of such migrants to "virtually zero" but paying for their transportation back to the first safe country they entered. They also called for limiting benefits to those with asylum claims in court to 18 months, instead of indefinitely as is the case now.
The two cabinet ministers also called on the EU "to ensure that those seeking protection for obviously unfounded reasons receive their negative decisions at the European external border and not come to us in the first place."
The Free Democrats, a historically center-right party that has in past elections been skeptical of green energy and mass migration, has been the odd couple party in the current center-left coalition. The result of its deviation from its historical policy positions has been that in state election after state election, the party is losing all its seats in state Landtags. The party seems anxious to reclaim its historical positions to avoid annihilation in German elections, and some speculate could even bring down the current government and force a new election.
While the largest coalition partner, the center-left Social Democrats are also moving right on immigration, the Social Democrat Chancellor recently calling for mass deportations, the third partner, the far left Green Party is moving the other way, calling for voting rights for asylum seekers.
The German city-state of Hamburg, run by the Social Democrats, last year spent a billion euros subsidizing these mostly fake "asylum seekers". In the eastern state of Saxony, the CDU, Free Voters, and Alternativ fur Deutschland joined together to cut millions in subsidies for asylum seekers out of the state budget.

It is my experience that bureaucrats, whose job is to source funds to others to justify those bureaucrats' existence, will find a way to place that money through 'proper channels" employing whatever duplicitous means necessary.

It is obscene that places like New York or the UK are housing these moochers in upscale hotels at taxpayer expense. Giving them tents, like Austria does is more appropriate, if anything. Maybe a disused prison or jail, at most.
With the main party of the left in Germany starting to wake up on the problem of the fake asylum seekers, can we ever expect American Democrat politicians to do so? The idea of giving them negative answers at the border and not letting them enter in the first place is a good one. They should be interviewed hooked to a polygraph, and when they are caught in lies, they need to be immediately ejected back across the border. |

People who have illegally entered the country are not supposed to get any public assistance program but the loophole is that anchor babies do qualify and that brings others in the family into some programs by the back door.
Those who are deemed "refugees" however have it made as they are entitled to all welfare programs. That is one reason why most illegal aliens try to claim asylum. This is a real racket and the Biden regime keeps trying to expand the ranks of those parasites who can kick back on welfare.
