Former President Donald Trump received an endorsement from House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) on Tuesday, extending a streak of good relations between the two Republicans.

Johnson declared his support for Trump during an interview on CNBC's "Squawk Box" upon being pressed by co-host Joe Kernen, who noted that the speaker is widely known as a "Trump ally" but had not publicly embraced a particular candidate in the 2024 White House race as far as he knew.

"I have endorsed him wholeheartedly," Johnson replied.

"Look, I was one of the closest allies that President Trump had in Congress," the speaker added. "He had a phenomenal first term. Those first two years, as you all know, we brought about the greatest economic numbers in the history of the world, not just the country, because his policies worked and I'm all in for President Trump."

Johnson, a constitutional lawyer-turned-politician, joined Trump's impeachment defense team and helped in the effort to challenge the results of the 2020 election. Though Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) initially got Trump's endorsement in the race for speaker after Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) was ousted from the role last month, the former president encouraged members to support Johnson when it became clear he was the "leading candidate." Johnson won the gavel in a 220-209 vote with the GOP conference rallying behind him.

Trump is running again for a second term after losing to President Joe Biden in 2020. National polls show Trump as the clear frontrunner in a wide but shrinking GOP field, while surveys examining a hypothetical general election rematch against Biden have been closer.

Other major GOP candidates still in the race for the presidency include Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, Former South Carolina Governor and United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley, former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, tech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum, and former Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson. Candidates who have dropped out include former Vice President Mike Pence and Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC).

"I expect he'll be our nominee," Johnson said of Trump on Tuesday. "Yeah. And he's gonna win it and we have to make Biden a one-term president."

Considering what real news is available for all to witness, and in great specificity, should one pursue what is true outside of the channeled realm of the corrupt corporate /legacy media, and: Is Institutionalized Corruption real, and is it a hindrance to sustaining our Constitutional Republic now, and for future generations of American citizens?
  Not sure

In the most recent Midterms Election, the "Republican Red Wave" turned out to be a "Republican Red Ripple," which, as in all elections, confounded the political prognosticators of what to expect down the governing /political road: What, and who, do you think is best for this meandering Representative Republic in the near future?
Because they know how to best allocate the public's money back to the right part of the public, the Democrats will NOW always prevail and get my vote.
With patriotic pragmatism the cornerstone of the best of the Republican Party, they will ultimately save this Constitutional Republic from self-destruction.
Since the Executive Branch is so important to turn this Representative Republic around, I am still on Team Trump in 2024.
Since the nation may need a different path to Conservative patriotism in the Executive, I am joining Team DeSantis.
Because I am entitled to take the government dole, the prevailing favoritism whenever possible, I will support any, and every Democrat candidate.

In the minds of many, since January 20, 2021, the World has become far less safe in every theater of conflict, beginning with the attack of Israel by Iran /Hamas, so the question becomes: What caused this Worldwide calamity of extreme geopolitical dysfunction, and what will correct it?
Joe Biden is the cause of this frightening Worldwide situation, and it will end when a Republican is elected president.
This delayed Worldwide dysfunction and constant conflict is all Donald Trump's fault, as it is with everything that occurs going forward, and long before the man ever became the 45th president..
Joe Biden is the "root cause" of this frightening Worldwide situation, and it will end when former President Donald John Trump is elected president.
In the imitable words of Alfred E. Newman: "What, me worry?"

This is a politically astute move by the Speaker, regardless of whom one may support of the remaining candidates in this campaign for the Republican nomination. What the Speaker has spoken to the World is that he is doubling down against the rampant corruption foisted upon US by the Democratic Socialists and the RINOs.

Former Speaker Paul Ryan would have never made this adroit of a political move.
