House Republicans announced on Thursday that Hunter Biden will appear next month for a deposition, signaling an end to a standoff in the impeachment inquiry into his father, President Joe Biden, for the first son's testimony.

Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-KY) and Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) shared the news in a brief statement that included interview plans for other witnesses.

"Hunter Biden will appear before our committees for a deposition on February 28, 2024. His deposition will come after several interviews with Biden family members and associates. We look forward to Hunter Biden's testimony," they said.

The announcement followed Hunter Biden's attorney, Abbe Lowell, writing to the chairmen last week after the oversight and judiciary panels approved resolutions to hold his client in contempt of Congress for defying subpoenas issued in November.

Lowell said Hunter Biden would appear for a deposition or hearing in compliance with a "proper subpoena" since the House voted to formally authorize the impeachment inquiry last month.

Though they argued their prior subpoenas were valid, Comer and Jordan said over the weekend they would be willing to accommodate Hunter Biden by agreeing to subpoena him again. A congressional source told The Daily Wire on Thursday that new subpoenas have not yet been issued to Hunter Biden, but will be sent out soon.

The Daily Wire reached out to Lowell seeking comment.

Hunter Biden showed up on Capitol Hill twice in recent weeks - once on the day of his previously scheduled deposition in December and a second time this month as lawmakers considered the contempt resolutions, demanding he be allowed to appear in an open setting such as a public hearing to answer "legitimate" questions while depriving members the opportunity to distort his testimony.

House Republicans indicated they were willing to have Hunter Biden testify in a public hearing - but only after a deposition - and have insisted throughout the standoff that their subpoenas were valid. Democrats encouraged the GOP to accept Hunter Biden's offer for public testimony and back off their endeavor to hold the first son in contempt of Congress.

Although GOP leadership indicated a floor vote on contempt would take place this week, none was scheduled as talks progressed between Congress and Hunter Biden's legal team.

As part of a corruption-focused impeachment probe into President Biden, congressional investigators are looking into the business dealings of the Biden family and how the Department of Justice has handled its criminal investigation into Hunter Biden. A flurry of subpoenas have been issued over the past several months. Hollywood lawyer Kevin Morris participated in a transcribed interview on Thursday and Hunter Biden's art gallery dealer Georges Bergès did last week.

Comer and Jordan said on Thursday their committees will conduct more transcribed interviews with several Biden family members and associates in the coming weeks and noted they are still working with an attorney for James Biden, President Biden's brother, to schedule his appearance.

The chairmen shared interview plans for some Biden family associates - the week of January 22 for Mervyn Yan and Rob Walker, the week of January 29 for Eric Schwerin and Joey Langston, and the week of February 5 for Tony Bobulinski - and noted additional witnesses will be announced in the future.

Now that the public is allowed to know the truth regarding the Hunter Biden Laptop Scandal, after more that 2 1/2 years of deception by the corrupt Corporate Media Kabal, propropagandidats all, and the discredited Deep State, we have NOW learned that the infamous laptop is far less about the Biden Boy's fetish for pornography, narcotics and Russian whores, and far more about Hunter's pivotal role in the Biden Crime Syndicate's selling of deep access to our foreign adversaries, and to what extent it has compromised our national security: What is your opinion about this possible coordinated Treason?
It is imperative that we know the truth of what may be the greatest scandal in our Republic's history, and all aforementioned parties prosecuted for their crimes against the People.
Currently, our Two Tiered Justice System is constructed to protect all Democratic Socialists, their corrupt "Journalist" spokes-sheople, and their Deep State enablers ... so why bother.
  It is Donald Trump's fault.
How can we be assured that the "Laptop" is real? Would NOT our standard journalists have investigated this issue thoroughly nearly 3 years ago if it was real?

After nearly 8 months of the United States House of Representatives' Oversight Committee hearings, House Speaker Mike Johnson is pursuing an Impeachment Inquiry into the strong allegations of Bribery, Influence Peddling, Money laundering and possible Treason regarding the Biden Family Shell Corporations' business dealings with foreign nations that are adversarial to our survival: Is it prudent and wise for the Republican controlled U.S. House to investigate this Democratic Socialist President?
No, Democratics should never be investigated because they are so superior to their Republican counterparts, and care so much more.
Yes, in a Constitutional Republic, bound by the Rule of Law, no one is above the law, and that law must be applied evenly.
Not sure ... Now, what got all this started?

Considering what real news is available for all to witness, and in great specificity, should one pursue what is true outside of the channeled realm of the corrupt corporate /legacy media, and: Is Institutionalized Corruption real, and is it a hindrance to sustaining our Constitutional Republic now, and for future generations of American citizens?
  Not sure

In light of continued developments, primarily since 2008, there exists in these United States a Legal System which operates on a proved Two Tiered approach to justice rendered, which primarily benefits Democratic Elites and Woke Ideological Virtue Signalers, representing their co-dependent wards, to the expressed exclusion of normal hardworking American citizens: What is your suggestion in remedying this widespread injustice and, if not corrected, its existential outcome for our Constitutional Republic?
Complete overhaul of the Department of Justice and their enforcers - the FBI - to reflect a far more honest justice system to keep patriots remaining calm.
Disband the FBI, and request that congress investigate all unethical and non patriotic practices to partially right the wrongs of a distrusted and politically weaponized "Department of Justice."
Continue with the current system since the two tiered justice system has been so remarkably beneficial to Democratic Socialist political hegemony; chronic distrust in institutions notwithstanding.
