Raleigh's new RINO - Bradford Paisley Briner IV | Eastern North Carolina Now

RINO replaces stalwart conservative Dale Folwell as State Treasurer

ENCNow

Anyone who researched Bradley Paisley Briner IV when he ran in the GOP primary for State Treasurer should have known he was no conservative nor much of a Republican.  He has a history until recently as a registered Unaffiliated who voted in the Democrat primary. His employment history has been with former liberal New York Mayor and gun control activist Michael Bloomberg, where his close colleagues had held high ranking posts in Democrat administrations.

In the general election, instead of attacking their Democrat opponents as the other Republicans running statewide did, Briner attacked the conservative Republican incumbent of the office he was running for, conservative stalwart State Treasurer Dale Folwell.  One wonders in Briley even comprehended which primary he had won.

Now, Briner is laying his cards on the table as to how he will run the department.  His key early pick for a top position as Deputy Treasurer and Chief Investment Officer is a Democrat functionary who held the same position for the Democrat State Treasurer who preceded Folwell.  The Democrats are back in the saddle under this phoney "Republican".  Before Folwell, the NC Pension Fund investments were hived off to Wall Street brokers who charged the system huge fees, and in all liklihood he will be back to doing the same under Briner.  Folwell took this function in house, and brought in more investment income without the fees.  Briner attacked Folwell for that, and it is clear he wants to go back to the Democrat way of doing things and make the Democrat Wall Street brokers rich at the expense of NC state government retirees.

With "Republicans" like Bradford Paisley Briner IV, who even needs Democrats?  Oh, and Briner IV is on the team of uber-RINO senate boss Phil Berger, who has pushed the key items of Roy Cooper's agenda through the General Assembly.

Truitt was a big disappointment, the second weak DPI superintendant from the GOP in a row, but now we have something much worse, a radical extreme leftist Democrat in that position, Mo Green. God help our NC education system.

The magnitude of the N.C. Council of State elections massacre is a disaster that is continuing to play out.

As has been pointed out, Briner is starting out much like Truitt did four years ago a DPI. He is likely to do as much damage or even more damage than she did in his term. What then? Are we setting the stage for even more radical Democrat victories coming up. The NC GOP had better get itself together soon or that will happen. A viable NC GOP will not happen by itself.

Dale Folwell has been a great State Treasurer and would have made a great governor. That Briner is anti-Folwell tells you everything you need to know about him. He is as phony as a three dollar bill and is nothing but a Democrat in false Republican clothing.

Just like Catherine Truitt at DPI. She immediately hired a very liberal Democrat as her top deputy four years ago. Truitt turned out to be a real dud and was defeated in her primary after one term. Briner sounds like he will merit the same primary treatment.
