Secretary of State Marco Rubio, appearing at a town hall event in Florida expressed his views that it is parents, not schools, who should be responsible for raising children. Rubio said government's role in education should be minimized and there should be no indoctrination of children.
"It is neither the government's nor the schools' job to raise children. They're there to teach," Rubio declared, "Parents raise children.". Addressing the "woke" mandates from the Biden era, Rubio said "What we are doing at the federal level is ensuring that we are not bullying states into adopting policies that, at the end of the day, turn those places from schools into indoctrination centers. That's actually the way Marxism works. They use schools to indoctrinate."

Meanwhile, John Droz, a physicist living in eastern NC who has been involved with education for twenty years and has testified to Congressional committees on the subject, gave a recent interview in which warned that ideological indoctrination is still a big part of many school curricula. "What we have done is hand over the curriculum to people on the left and they have just indoctrinated," Droz decclared.

Parents are the ones who should be listened to by the school boards. Teachers can advise, but the school board is elected by the community to see that community views are implemented. We need to watch our own school board on that.
