Queen Garris - Déjà vu “All Over Again”

Deja vu is a French expression. It means “already seen”. The saying “Déjà vu, all over again” was made famous by the baseball player Yogi Berri. Queen Garris keeps plowing the same ground over and over. This is indicative of her mindset that somehow, she has been elected to be dictator of Beaufort County Republicans. She is upset that almost all of us do not believe everything she says. Actually, almost everything Queen Garris says is either untrue or spun to her dictator methods.
Queen Garris, without the approval of the Beaufort County Executive Committee, went on the Beaufort County Republican Party Facebook site and unloaded a rendition of lies headlined “STATEMENT FROM CHAIRMAN CAROLYN GARRIS OF THE BEAUFORT COUNTY REPUBLICAN PARTY”. Again, no part of this statement has been approved by the Beaufort County Republican Executive Committee.
Her statements attacking elected and candidate Republicans is disloyal. Her mind is locked on Councilman Joe Davis who is not a member of either the Republican or Democrat or any other party and is not now running for office. She says nothing about the elections coming up in November. She attacks myself who is not running for office. She violates her duty to support all Republicans when she attacks Stan Deatherage who is running for County Commissioner in the November 2026 elections.
Queen Garris has appointed a so called “Victory Committee” to run Republican Party activities. It is this Committee that spends the money the Republican Party raises. They decide who gets money and who does not. The Executive Committee has approved the spending of only several hundred dollars during the past several years while the Victory Committee without the approval of the Executive Committee spends the estimated twenty thousand dollars donated by Republicans. Garris and her buddies on the Victory Committee dislike conservative Republicans such as Stan Deatherage and Hood Richardson.
You do not see Garris complaining about those whom the Victory Committee secretly supports. Look at the November 2026 sample ballot when it comes out and vote for those whom Queen Garris is complaining about. They are the conservative Republicans.
After much pressure Queen Garris identified the members of the Victory Committee to be Ashley Woolard, Keith Kidwell, Queen Garris, Greg Dority, Steve Rader, and Paul Varcoe. This committee meets in secret without giving notice to the Executive Committee. Their activities have never been disclosed to the Executive Committee. They have never requested permission in advance from the Executive Committee to spend money. Ashley Woolard is currently a candidate for County Commissioner. It is unethical and a violation of party rules for him to serve on this committee. Keith Kidwell did not step down during his primary election.
Queen Garris’ big lie is that the Conservative Club messed up the Washington City elections. The fact is, the Conservative Club came out early supporting the Tax Cut Five for City Council in what is a nonpartisan election. Queen Garris and her cronies on the Victory Committee decided they had to take on the Conservative Club. Queen Garris and Greg Dority came to a Conservative Club meeting and agreed that the Conservative Club and the Republican Party would work together to support the Tax Cut Five. They did not tell the truth.
Queen Garris and Dority along with the remainder of the Victory Committee then recruited Wiley Woolard, brother to Ashley Woolard, who has never been active in politics, to run for City Council so they could say they had five Republicans. Because Queen Garris and Dority deceived the Conservative Club, they are banned from our meetings. The Beaufort County Republican Executive Committee has never authorized the Republican Party to participate in these nonpartisan elections. The Victory Committee spent an estimated $5,000 running advertisements against the Conservative Club and Joe Davis. Queen Garris and the Victory Committee went to the polls during the election claiming Wiley Woolard was a true Republican and those supported by the Conservative Club were not Republicans. The result was that the votes cast for Wiley Woolard were more than the same number needed to defeat Sheri Clark and Tex Melton. This allowed two Democrats to be elected. Talk about vetting candidates, Wiley Woolard never campaigned. The defeat in the Washington City elections was delivered by the Beaufort County Republican Party.
Queen Garris has more serious Party problems than Joe Davis. She and the Treasurer have not filed amended reports with the State Board of Elections to clear up the complaints about incomplete and unbalanced books. David French, the Treasurer, indicated at the July Executive Committee meeting that he did not know what to do and the State Board of Elections was not helping him. This is pure pandering. If the complaint is about books that are incomplete and do not balance the solution is simple. File amended reports that balance the books and are complete.
My opinion is “Déjà vu all over again”. Queen Garris and French intend to do the “Iranian hustle”. That is drag their feet until March of 2027 when new officers will probably be elected and turn the whole thing over to the new people. The new treasurer can then start a new set of books which are disconnected from the Queen Garris-French books. David French files a final report, closes his tenure as treasurer and hopes the Board of Elections will be happy to be rid of them.
Another Queen Garris lie comes around when she claims that somehow Stan Deatherage, Joe Davis and I are responsible for raising taxes. Davis has been in office eight months. Queen Garris and her Victory Committee support RINOs, Fake Frankie Waters and Randy the RINO Walker, who joined with Democrats Langley and Booth to falsely raise taxes 7.4 percent during the revaluation and have voted to increase the Beaufort County Budget spending every year for the past ten years. Another big lie is to infer that the Beaufort County Republican Executive Committee vets candidates. They do not. The Victory Committee supports any candidate who dislikes Stan Deatherage and Hood Richardson. That is their idea of vetting.
Republicans need to be careful to whom they donate money. We recommend donations directly to the candidate or the Beaufort County Good Government Committee. Donations to the Beaufort County Republican Party usually support liberal Republican RINOs.

JS: If you are referring to a cat fight between conservatives and the self-proclaimed "True Republicans" it is important to recognize that the "True Republican" party leader in Beaufort County, and her minions, are publicly attacking conservative Republican candidates in a general election season. It is not right to be doing this under the banner of the local Republican Party. There is abundant evidence pointing this out. You seem to be minimalizing her behavior. It is clear that this is just not appropriate especially in a general election season. Her behavior has brought us to a point well beyond any possibility of a credible vote of confidence. This is the reality of this sorry situation.

I am sure that the liberals Democrats locally are just loving this cat fight among conservatives and Republicans . With a critical election just three months away, this is not a smart time to be doing this. Both sides need to cool it. If you have to fight, wait until after the election, please. There will be plenty of time then, between the election and the county convention. Have at it then, if you must, but please not now.

People of Beaufort County: Until the Beaufort County GOP turns itself around and toward the light of transparency, you would be wise to be distrustful of their ambitions. Also, The FB post still exists; however, there are "hard copies" of the Statement. Here is mine below: "STATEMENT FROM CHAIRMAN CAROLYN GARRIS OF THE BEAUFORT COUNTY REPUBLICAN PARTY: The Beaufort County Republican Party exists for one purpose -- that is to get Republicans elected. I was very disappointed to read the latest Facebook comments by non-Republican Washington City Councilman Joe Davis where he blames the Beaufort County GOP Victory Committee for the City of Washington's current leadership crisis. Davis seems to feel the Republican Party is to blame because the sole GOP member of the council is young and a relative newcomer to politics, while harping that Republican strategy cost seats in last November's election. That is asinine. So is Joe Davis. Joe Davis voted against a tax cut he promised the voters. Now he wants former mayor Donald Sadler, defeated in the last election by the will of the voters, to fill the vacant city council seat after attacking his policies during the campaign. When the just fired city manager threatened to hold Davis accountable for violating city ordinances with his questionable business practices it was clear the man's tenure would be short-lived. So how did all of this happen? Last November’s City of Washington municipal races were decisive and I feel it is important for the people of Washington, and Beaufort County, to know the difference between the actual party and a group who calls themselves the Beaufort County Republican Conservative Club. The Beaufort County Republican Party has very strict rules which require us to support Republican candidates at all levels of office, which also includes “non-partisan” races. The Club which is run by Hood Richardson and supported by Stan Deatherage, and his publication Beaufort County Now and its sister the beaufortobserver.net, do not adhere to the same rules as required of the county party. Historically the club and those publications have supported many non-Republican candidates over the years and recruits these candidates via signs posted along the public road with no vetting other than one simply calling them up. The party recruited and supported five Republicans for City Council. We worked hard to support each and every candidate and did so in a manner to promote true Republican and Conservative causes. The paid campaign materials approved by the Victory Committee such as radio ads and mailers promoted all five Republicans running for city council evenly and fairly. We were aware of the political reality that getting all five seats was nearly impossible however every one of our candidates was supported just as hard as the ones who were elected. And we have no regrets for doing just that. Here is where the confusion lies. Hood and Stan’s PAC Club and online political publications acts as a defacto propaganda arm of this group that heavily supported and promoted then Candidate Joe Davis and viciously attacked one of the Republican candidates. There was much confusion in the community due to citizens not understanding the difference between the actual party itself and the Political Action Committee club and these named political propaganda sites run by Richardson and Deatherage. Richardson and Deatherage have worked hand in hand on the county commission for decades while their PAC/publications combination often serves to obfuscate the true facts. Foremost, the party could not promote nor endorse Davis because he is not a member of the Republican Party. Secondly many rank and file Republicans had severe concerns regarding Davis and his very disturbing behavior at the Board of Elections once early voting began. To say that Davis’ tenure on the City Council has been problematic and heavily scrutinized by the community would be an understatement. I have had many people reach out to me and members of our team with multiple concerns about the questionable behavior of Davis as an elected official. To be crystal clear once more: Joe Davis is not a Republican but is a registered Unaffiliated candidate recruited by the club and supported by Richardson and Deatherage. The Beaufort County Republican Party in no way supported nor endorsed Davis. The actions and behavior of Davis as an elected official have indeed drawn criticism and rightfully so. His candidacy and election was not due to the Republican Party but rests solely with Hood Richardson and Stan Deatherage and they should be examined for their intentions and motives in supporting this non-Republican in such a vital race. Joe Davis is not the type of individual a true conservative Republican would support; his attacks on the minority community and those of other religious beliefs are beyond the pale and should be called out by the citizenry. The bottom line is the taxpayers here in Beaufort County are being burned at the stake with massive tax increases causing even more hardship to our fellow citizens while so-called political leadership plays vendetta games. Now Joe Davis is making noise about bringing the defeated Democratic Party mayor back into city government while a few political insiders, a couple who have been in elected office for decades, continue to govern with the tired political shell game that has gotten us where we are today. Joe Davis is not a Republican. Hood and Stan’s club nor publications are not part of the Republican Party. So why are they in such an awful hurry to replace an outgoing Republican council member with a defeated Democrat? Surely there aren’t more land deals going around?" Stan Deatherage Carolyn Garris, as chairman of the Beaufort County GOP, you should know better than to promote what is not true, especially against a Real Republican such as myself, who is running for office. Speaking of Death or Rage: After the treatment given by the local GOP toward Republican Commissioner Deatherage as well as other local Republicans, and also citizens in general, maybe the berserker mentality is the appropriate response. It is painfully obvious that this local GOP, that is so fond of baselessly charging others with party disloyalty, is more guilty of party disloyalty than any entity in history. The unbridled hostility coming from these people is quite incredible. It appears Chairman Garris has removed her totally inappropriate "statement" from Facebook. It is too late. The world is awash with hardcopy evidence of her latest party disloyalty.
I really hoped that these characters in official party positions would stop and think enough to control themselves and tone things down enough to get through the election season. No way. The only thing these self-serving haters know is double down - no matter how bad their behavior is. These overweening leaders and their narcissistic moron followers are not suitable for the positions they occupy. I truly believe if they do not step down on their own or otherwise, and if they are not replaced by credible interim leadership now, then this party will not survive as anything worthwhile. Things have gone too far. The Chairperson must step aside. She cannot be replaced by one of her lieutenants or bosses. An honorable interim leader willing to work with all factions must step forward now. Short of that, this dumpster fire will burn a very long-time and nothing will be left. These characters with screwed up priorities are harming the Party, and they are harming the community. Are there any grown-ups left? |

Certain people in the GOP need to really study the definition of what it means to be a Zionist; it knows neither party boundary nor religious boundary. You turning it into an "anti-j*w" angle is what certain Republicans do when they don't want to upset their handlers. Some of y'all are too damn old to be this stupid-acting; it's as if some of y'all blame everything on the left in an effort to avoid facing the shortcomings of a faction within the GOP that isn't widely accepted by the public anymore. Wow, JV! You think Switzerland, Sweden, and Norway are threats to the US but Red China is not? China is a totalitarian communist state. The others are all multi-party democracies. China has a massive military force and nuclear weapons, including strategic rocket forces. The three countries have modest military forces, far below those of the US and no nuclear weapons. China has the world's second largest economy and closing in on the size of the US economy, far far more than those three countries you consider threats. Big tech? China is much more heavily into that than any of the other counties you mention. Indeed they are the country we are currently in a close competition with on AI China has massive cyberwarfare capabilities, but none of those three do. Banking? You might want to compare the total amount of funds held in Chinese banks compared with the others. The only one of those that is a big banking center in Switzerland, and after the collapse of Credit Suisse, one of its two longtime leading banks, it is no longer what it once was. You mighjt also want to compare gold holdings of the three countries, and central bank gold purchases in the last two to three years.
