Comments for Politics and Common Sense?

Common sense, transparency and accountability are necessary for good governance.

When I think of politicians like Sadler and his city council court jesters, the term "robber baron" comes to mind, rather than "king".

The No Kings movement can be appealing to a wide range of ppl, because it doesnt just apply to the Presidency, but also right here in WashingtonNC, Beaufort and the State, where we too have an
UN-Representative Republic. Even the candidates dont think they are elected to represent us, because if they did, then they would respond to phone calls and emails. When even candidates dont bother to "represent" you, then you know where/who the Kings are.

Both Walker of the Commission and Sadler of the Council both BLAMED the public for high taxes because none of the public showed up to protest an increase. These two are conveniently blind to the fact that we KNOW that the KINGS have quit listening to what we want, a long time ago.

Will the new bunch be any better? Maybe for a few days, until they let the lazy side of their brains take control. Then they become like Kings.

Van Zant: Yes, that has been the practice of the RINO Whisperers. I would NOT expect these clowns to be productive in any political "foxhole."

Yes, the Beaufort County GOP coddles RINOs and ALSO viciously attacks conservative Republicans.

Yes Van Zant and the RINOs and RINO Whisperers in the Beaufort County GOP coddle these politically abhorrent individuals; causing one to consider - change is afoot.

Again, Randy Walker and Frankie Waters both changed their party memberships just to run for office. It should be no surprise to see them both voting with the Democrats most of the time.

To the Beaufort County Public, as Hood mentioned, I did miss that specific meeting "due to illness;" however, I am now strong again; not as much in body, as I am in spirit.

With total hip replacement surgery, the body must follow as it will, and as it can.

One thing is definitely for sure going forward, I will no longer be standing at county commissioner meetings because I cannot bear to sit. That was just one of my maladies fixed by this very necessary and major reconstructive surgery.

Even though my body is continually on the mend; at this point, I already feel 5 years younger in body, and a good decade younger in spirit. I can walk, I can stand, and I can sit, and, moreover, I can better think.

The vote on drugs should have been against drug across the board. Sadly it wasn't.
"would give the taxpayer a 25 percent reduction in taxes each year."
Nice to dream that the majority of the county commissioners would actually vote to reduce taxes, but I don't see that happening in my life time unless the waste can be controlled. Sadly most of the commissioners want to spend our money like they are drunk.
