Tyre is a slug who is just trying to protect the sleazy Sadler machine and cover up their sleaze. If he wants to be on a city council, he should run in Greenville, where the condo he owns and lives in is located, not from a fake downtown address in Washington.

Tyre made his motion to the OLD council, which should NOT have had ANY jurisdiction over the agenda of the NEW council. Any objection he had should have been addressed to the new council. That power play stunk. And Tyre himself is a total phony, not really a resident of Washington.
The losers have been trying to stymie the winners of the last election, and this is just their latest ploy. They have slow walked the city audit documents (what are they hiding????) and left the city with no functioning city manager. There are a lot of highly questionable things that need to be looked into, and this bunch is trying to gum up the works to keep those things from being looked into as long as they can.

Actually, it's a lot worse than the Radar O'Reilly example. In all probability.

BUT JS, Tyre is a member of the new council and he says he didnt get a chance to approve the "new agenda." Sooooo, my question is WHO was working with the City Attorney to set up the new agenda?? Who knew about it? Who had the inside scoop, it certainly wasnt Tyre who was also on the new council. So I think for the sake of transparency it is a good thing that this agenda was Erased. The city may have been Saved by Tyre, even if saving us was not part of his plan.
Quite frankly I believe that those in the Washington Govt have been "working the system," to get what they want. Please understand that every time a govt works the system to favor one outcome, they are stepping on the toes of others who perhaps are being hurt by it. Its not good Govt. "Working the system" needs to stop. It leads to institutionalized corruption. "Trust but Verify."

The new council's agenda should be up to the new council, NOT the old defeated council. What Tyre did was a dirty trick to extend the coverup for the old council and thwart the new council being able to hit the ground running.

W: Our local government is like watching re-runs of Mash where Radar O'Reilly keeps getting Colonel Blake's signature for stuff he has no clue of. The local officials have forgotten how to lead.

I finally got to see the video of the outgoing city council meeting. Its where Councilman Tyre questions the City Attorney about the new Agenda for that meeting.
The City attorney admits that he wrote it for the new Council members. Tyre says but NO ONE on the current council knew anything about these contracts on the new agenda. The City Attorney replies, "But THE STAFF did." If you put your thinking cap on, I believe you will now see part of the problem in our City. THE STAFF think they run the show. Even to the point of circumventing the City Council and perhaps pulling a fast one over the new naive incoming council. Isnt that what FBI Director Comey admitted to doing to Flynn and Trump...slipping in a poison pill before they could get their feet on the ground? THE STAFF need an attitude adjustment, including the City attorney.

Mark Doane who has been the assistant School Superintendent since 2014 was named Beaufort County's interim Superintendent.
Does anyone know his reputation and character? Perhaps we could keep him full time? Unless he was just a shell, he surely knows the job. www.witn.com

CT: This just demonstrates how out of whack local government has become. How can they justify paying such exorbitant salaries. It is abuse of the taxpaying public.

So, a local education bureaucrat in Craven County gets paid more than the NC Governor, a US Senator, and NC Council of State members including the STATE Superintendent of Public Instruction? That is both insane and obscene. It is an absolute taxpayer ripoff.

Cheeseman's Craven County salary will be $235,000. What were we paying?
Craven County said Cheeseman was chosen because of his skillset which includes experience in budgets! I think Hood would disagree. Cheeseman said he chose them because they are looking for the same things he has, or wants, to give. www.witn.com Interesting isnt it that the County manager resigns, then the City manager, then the Superintendent of Education, then the Washington Deputy City manager, then Community Director Dail. I pray there are more to follow. We need a complete change from the petty authoritarians that exist here. MErry CHRISTMAS!

All I can say is that Craven County's loss (getting Cheeseman) is Beaufort County's gain (getting rid of Cheeseman).

Yeah, well ... I hope the elected officials in Craven County have enough sense to not take Superintendent Cheeseman's advice by NOT choosing a title search, when it comes to using certain plots of land when building mega structures, for mega millions of the Public's money, all for "The Children."

JV, I missed that WDN article, too, but the Sadler machine still seems to be engaged in power plays. There is a real bad small coming out of city hall from what they machine did to our city. I suspect Kidwell is watching the downfall of the machine with glee as he had to slap down the former city manager a time or two on misapplying state grant money. Of course, it was not as easy to deal eith their misapplication of city taxpayer money.

Washingtonian: I had heard about "The Daily News" article from some friends but hadn't read it until you shared it here; thank you.
The picture TDN posted in the article is very interesting: the body language of those pictured should be taken note of; there's lots of fun to be had in deciphering that Kodak moment. Tyre, Ol' Franz and Brabo are the public faces now involved in one helluva political Mexican standoff that everyone's watching. Even the distraction of Dominic Connelly isn't pulling people away from what's going on in City politics. This is like some s*** from Robocop; you can't make it up. Btw, I'd be willin' to bet money that both Kidwell and Cheeseman are watching this with puckered dukes....if this IS legit and not just Kabuki theater. We shall see......stay tuned

John Valley, did you read the Washington Daily news at link:
www.thewashingtondailynews.com Which tells how the old Council cancelled the agenda for the New Council. All of this is very odd. But it might be a good thing in the long run. It says the City attorney helped with the Agenda. ALSO Director Mike Dail is also resigning from the City STAFF. Does a Cabal behave like rats on a sinking ship? We need a few more resignations in my humble opinion. Yes, Fritz has done a great service for WeThePpl. AND, as we are seeing, no good deed goes unpunished. AND, as seen on facebook, an outgoing wife attacks an incoming wife.

Washingtonian, I also strongly doubt that the old boss will ACTUALLY be sued by the new boss; it seems like window dressing. I'm on the fence about Brabo but I find it very interesting that no one has refuted the city being in the red; that is very telling.
If the City is broke, the County ain't too behind. With rampant fraud being discovered all around us, I don't think it would be too far fetched to surmise that the taxpayer has been royally screwed over and exploited by the "powers that be". The question is: Where? I think Fritz is onto something

Frankly Rino Hunter, I dont see the new Washington Govt suing the old City Govt. Perhaps someone could contact Ellen Brabo's attorney and ask him to consider a class action lawsuit. Here is his public info as shown on their website:

Washingtonian, Going from managing a city of almost 10,000 to a town of about 1.200 is a huge professional comedown for the former manager, but remember he walked away from here with a big stash of loot he did not deserve bestowed upon him by our corrupt defeated city political machine for being their loyal lackey. The new city government needs to claw that back, either from the former manager or from those who wrongfully bestowed it on him. Sue their pants off!

Speaking of the now resigned City Manager. I saw this on WITN.
"Former Washington city manager named town manager of Robersonville." By WITN Web Team "Robersonville Mayor Tina Brown confirmed to WITN that Jonathan Russell started as town manager last Friday." == I feel sorry for the people of Robersonville.
