Wanda Kay Allen | Eastern North Carolina Now

    Wanda Kay Allen of Cocoa Beach, Florida passed away peacefully on the morning of Saturday, January 25th at Magnolia House Assisted Living Facility in Cocoa Beach.

    Born on March 10, 1943 in Norfolk, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Murray and Edith (Wollard) Brinn and grew up in Virginia Beach and Bath, North Carolina. After graduating Bath High School, she married and lived in Western Massachusetts where she raised a son and two daughters. Years later, Wanda moved back to North Carolina where she remarried and raised two daughters. She retired to Cocoa Beach in 2003.

    Wanda loved the water and was an avid gardener who loved collecting wildflowers and plants of all kinds. She had many creative interests including sewing and crocheting.

    Wanda was survived by her children, Kenneth L. Ketchum, Jr. of Newburyport, MA; Tracey B. Harrison of Cocoa Beach, FL; Sherri L. Whitley of Merritt Island, FL, Julie Allen Cuccia of Savannah, GA and Brandy O. Allen of Beaufort, NC. She had nine grandchildren: Cassidy, Jade, Caitlin, Kyle, Jacob, Sarah, Logan, Aleigha and Luke; and two great-grandchildren: William and Desirae. She was also survived by her brothers, Sherial and Gary Brinn. Wanda was predeceased by her parents, brother CF Wallace and sister Emily Boyd.

    Private family services will be held.

    Mr. Bobby Kenneth Edwards, 64, of 50 Frederick Road, Chocowinity, died Sunday, January. 26, 2014, in Vidant Medical Center, Greenville.

    A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, February. 1, 2014, at Washington Assembly of God with pastors Steve Evans and J.T. Edwards officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to the funeral hour at the church.

    Mr. James Johnson Randolph Jr., a resident of Ridgewood Manor and formerly of 101 School St., Pantego, died Tuesday, January. 28, 2014, at Ridgewood Manor.

    A funeral will be conducted at noon Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014, at Weeping Mary Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ), Pantego, with Elder Donald Peartree officiating. Burial follows in Broad Creek Community Cemetery.

    The family is receiving friends at 94 Beaufort St., Terra Ceia community, Pantego. Arrangements are by Bonner Street Funeral Home, Washington.

    Mr. Cleauther "Joe Nathan" Reddick, of 165 Willow Drive, Chocowinity, died Tuesday, January. 28, 2914, at his home.

    The family is receiving friends at the home of his daughter, Sheila Driver, 165 Willow Drive, Chocowinity.

    Mrs. Pearline H. Seals, of 119 Boyd Acres, Washington, died Sunday, January. 26, 2014, at her home.

    A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, January 31, 2014, in the Leon Randolph Memorial Chapel. Burial follows in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held an hour before the funeral. The family is receiving friends at the home.

    Mr. Curtis Guilford, of 1015 Powell Drive, Washington, died Thursday, January. 23, 2014.

    A funeral will be conducted at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, February. 1, 2014, at Deeper Life Ministries Church, Washington. Burial is at 9:45 a.m. Sunday, February. 2, 2014, at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Washington.

    Ms. Semera Dee O'Neal Henderson, of 139 Slade Road, Pantego, died Wednesday, January. 22, 2014.

    A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, February. 1, 2014, at Northside High School, Pinetown. The body will be placed in the school's auditorium one hour prior to the service. Burial follows at Northside Cemetery, Belhaven. The family is receiving friends at the home.

    Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Satterthwaite Moore, 79, a resident of River Trace Nursing & Rehabilitation Center and formerly of Belhaven, died Friday, January. 24, 2014.

    A funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, February. 2, 2014, at Holly Grove Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ), Belhaven. The family is receiving friends at the home of Eddie and Carolyn Credle, 541 Edwards St., Belhaven.
