Dietary guidelines | Eastern North Carolina Now

From a government obsessed with control of you

The Anointed One's administration is about to propose some changes to the Government's dietary guidelines. Reportedly they would like to "do in" the meat industry including (maybe even especially the "red meat " industry. All in the name of reducing obesity in the United States - clearly a worthwhile undertaking.

If they are successful in killing the cattle industry, they will have gone a long way toward solving the global warming issue. After all the cattle are responsible for putting prodigious amounts of Hydrogen Sulfide into the atmosphere. And we all know that Hydrogen Sulfide is a much greater contributor to global warming than even Carbon Dioxide. Getting rid of the cattle will certainly be a step in the right direction. Do you suppose that after we get rid of the beef cattle, the next step might be to discredit milk so we can also get rid of the dairy industry. An unintended consequence of getting rid of the dairy industry might be that when that happens we should be able to get rid of the dairy subsidies (if we don't decide to increase them to make it up to the dairy farmers).

Presumably, we will end up with a completely new Food Pyramid.

Well here is the strategy that we should employ to get the ball rolling..

Code the SNAP cards that the Anointed One's Administration passes out with such great alacrity so that they can only be used to purchase those things that are included in the new food pyramid and only in the percentages they represent in the pyramid.(e.g. If 20% of one's diet is supposed to be dairy products, allow 20% of the amount included on the card to be used to purchase dairy products and nothing else. Likewise if the pyramid shows 30% of one's diet to be fruit, only allow 30% of the amount on the card to be used to purchase fruit and nothing else.) It seems to me that such a scheme would certainly decrease the value of the SNAP card as a "trading" vehicle (not to suggest that any SNAP recipients would ever do that)...

Of course, implementing such an idea would require someone with experience. With Ms Sebelius gone, it isn't clear that there are any others in the Anointed One's Administration with any capability to take on such a project. Perhaps the First Lady has an old school chum who is running a software company (preferably an "8a" company) who can be given a sole source contract to take care of the programing, testing, and implementation... Hmmm...

And BTW, (new subject) is anyone watching the "Chicago Group" to see what they are working on and may have in store for us in the period leading up to the November elections. We do not need another surprise like they unveiled for the 2012 election. Just because they haven't been making a lot of noise doesn't mean they aren't working on a new "surprise" for the upcoming election. They work hard and they are smart and it would behoove us to make sure we don't get another unpleasant surprise this November. Putting up with the Anointed One for two more years will be bad enough. Putting up with the Anointed One and Harry Reid for two more years could well leave us in a situation from which it will take decades to recover.
