I received this letter via email overnight. It is intended to go around churches yesterday and through emails. IT IS FULL OF LIES AND DISTORTIONS!!!! I am and Ordained Baptist Minister with a Masters of Divinity Degree from Southeastern Baptists Theological Seminary in 1970. I KNOW WHEREOF I SPEAK!!!!

I know there are some of you that are Democratic, and love Obama, but this is for Christians first, politics later. I do pray that it doesn't offend anybody with the truth of the message, but it has to be sent. If you love your Lord first and your politics later, then you will appreciate this message. If you don't, I'm sorry I judged you wrong.
When we get 100,000,000, that's one hundred million willing Christians to BOND together, voice their concerns and vote, we can take back America with God's help. Become one of the One hundred million...
Then let's get 200 million. It can be done by sending this email to your friends. Do the math. It only takes a willing heart and a fed up soul. God Bless America and Shine your light on Her..
In 1952 President Truman Established one day a year as a "National Day of Prayer."
In 1988 President Reagan Designated the First Thursday in May of each year as The National Day of Prayer.
In June 2007 (then) Presidential Candidate Barack Obama Declared that the USA "Was no longer a Christian nation."
This year President Obama Canceled the 21st annual National Day Of Prayer ceremony at the White House under the ruse Of "not wanting to offend anyone"
BUT... On September 25, 2009 From 4 AM until 7 PM, A National Day of Prayer FOR THE MUSLIM RELIGION Was Held on Capitol Hill, Beside the White House. There were over 50,000 Muslims In D.C. That day.
HE PRAYS WITH THE MUSLIMS! I guess it Doesn't matter If "Christians" Are offended by this event - We obviously Don't count as "anyone" Anymore. Now he is encouraging schools to teach the qua-ran for extra credit in schools, while they cannot even talk about the bible, God or salute the American Flag.
The direction this country is headed should strike fear in the heart of every Christian, Especially knowing that the Muslim religion believes that if Christians cannot be Converted, they should be annihilated.
Send this to ten people And the person who Sent it to you!... To let them know that indeed, it was sent out to many more.
My response is as follows:
Counting you, my brother, there are 14 people who got this letter. It is full of lies and distortions beyond description!
"Thou shalt not bear false witness" happens to be a most important one of the 10 Commandments! You have your theological degree and a lifetime in a Career USAF Chaplain --- which should have let you know instantly it was such! You get your nice paycheck / the Commander-In-Chief gets your complete disrespect, sir. You are NOT this stupid, I thought. You have a nice car and good military Colonel's retirement. You are not suffering, as I am, from a busted economy---made so by the Reagan-initiated tax code of "Trickle Down." In comparison to the average taxpayer, you are secure and blessed.
As an average American HOW MUCH TAX DID YOU PAY LAST YEAR??? Was it the same 14% Romney paid on his Capital Gains --- by flushing corps down the tubes with takeovers from which he greatly profited? In the working segment he and other Disciples of GREED affected greatly, jobs were lost and not one red cent of pay increase was granted.
While I pastored Baptist churches, the Moral Majority sent this same crap to me every election year. First, it was a clear violation of our cherished Baptist heritage with Separation of Church and State. That is a Constitutional principle of great importance! Their sheets of manure were sized for bulletin insertion.
Roger Williams and his Baptist flock in Rhode Island were persecuted rather than interfere with the politics of their day. We used to honor their integrity in days of 1700's nation founding.
I did my duty to NEVER use my pulpit nor email for distortion of the minds to elect Conservative Republicans to office. Just like this is a distortion, the candidate positions the bulletin inserts depicted Democrats as "abortion-loving / race-pushing / religious-destroying / gay-loving freaks no one would want in office." In reverse, it was as if all Republicans were sprouting angel wings and halos! It always went into the trash can from my analytical hands. Even if I believed it, it was my duty to keep church and state separated on Election Day.
The Moral Majority started it in the 1970's and now you are doing the same today with your email forwards! This stuff elected Reagan to office --- and the many in NC --- who are turning our state and nation into a Regressive one losing ground daily. We are spending greatly on war --- and little on infrastructure repair or education right now. "Thou shalt not kill" is another Commandment.
The ONLY acceptable thing any Pastor should ever do is encourage his people to do their civic duty by voting for the candidate of their choice and other matters of conscience with amendments.
My personal choices were mine alone and done behind a closed curtain of the voting booth. It is NEVER my place to tell my people who to vote for!
Where is your brain????

Whatever happened to "help the poor and weak . . . / inasmuch as you have done it to the least of these, you have done it to me?"
Tomorrow is Election Day. I am ashamed of you and others like you who are so disrespectful of our Nation and its leaders to be elected IN PRIVATE.
If you will kindly forward this reasoned response in a reverse avalanche of email, I will know you did the right thing. Otherwise, you are like the man accused of slander before a wise Judge. The Judge ordered him to go down to the river and cut open a pillow emptying all the feathers into it. Then he was to receive the rest of his sentence upon returning. "Now," said the Judge, "Go out in the cold water and retrieve every single one of the feathers you just scattered."
