    Raleigh, N.C. - Governor Pat McCrory announced the following appointments today:

North Carolina State Banking Commission

  • Diane Gaines (Guilford County) - Gaines is the founder, president and CEO of Advanced Personnel Resources Inc.

    The commission supervises, directs and reviews all actions of the Commissioner of Banks on issues such as the establishment of new banks, the opening and closing of bank branches and mergers. The term length is four years.

Agricultural Development & Farmland Preservation Trust Fund Advisory Committee

  • Stuart Pierce (Hertford County) - Pierce is the president of Stuart Pierce Farms Inc.

    The committee advises the Commissioner of Agriculture in his role administering the Agricultural Development & Farmland Preservation Trust Fund. The term length is at the pleasure of the governor.

North Carolina Agricultural Finance Authority

  • Matt Kirkpatrick (Wake County) - Kirkpatrick is the owner of Reliant Partners LLC, a real estate development and investment firm in Raleigh.

    ​The authority is empowered to alleviate the severe shortage of capital and credit available at affordable interest rates for investment in agriculture and for export of agricultural products, commodities and services by providing such capital and credit at interest rates within the financial means of persons and businesses engaged in agriculture and agricultural exports. The term length is three years.

North Carolina Housing Finance Agency Board of Directors

  • Elizabeth Foley (Forsyth County) - Foley is an attorney with Blanco Tackabery & Matamoros, P.A.
  • Patricia Garrett (Pender County) - Garrett is the former president of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Housing Partnership.

    ​The board defines policies for affordable housing programs operated by the agency. It provides both financing and technical assistance to sponsors of renter and owner-occupied housing, among other duties. The term length is four years.

School announced yesterday that the so called forums at Chocowinity Middle School tonight (April 29,2025) and S.W. Snowden (Thursday May 1, 2025) have been cancelled pending the managers proposed budget.
