Hate is Overflowing These Days | Eastern North Carolina Now

Delusional enough to know only a small part of Muslims and Americans run their lives on HATE . . . As people seeking FREEDOM we started a dream which is now having some nightmares in the middle of the night . . .

I am amazed at the level of hate and misunderstanding being generated today. It is an attempt to make us afraid to the point the average person seeks some supposed "leader" to tell them what to do, in my view.

It is nothing new with mankind. Satan made Eve afraid she didn't know all God knew. Therefore, she was tempted to eat of the fruit of the tree of "The Knowledge of Good and Evil." She bit into it and bid Adam to join her. The Genesis account says they knew they were naked and covered themselves with leaves.

Next God pays them a visit and notes the change. He simply asks, "Why are you no longer naked?" They hemmed and hawed, but had to admit they had done that which God forbade them to do. The result was expulsion from a perfect Garden into a cold and cruel world of pain. The woman, according to the Bible, was cursed with the pain of childbirth. Adam now had to till the soil to get enough food to eat.

Think about this one for a bit, if you will:

    •  Mankind had it made IF he had sense enough to honor and obey the Creator

    •  Mankind's lust for knowledge / woman was gullible enough to listen to the Tempter caused them BOTH to do what God had told them not to do

    •  They did it together and wanted to blame each other for their Sin

    •  "The wages of sin is death," says the New Testament

    •  BUT God gives us salvation through the blood of his Son, Jesus

    •  It is a GIFT which money cannot buy

    •  Eternal Life is the real prize given by God to us

That is a spiritual message so many of us misses and --- because of that miss --- we are doomed to misery and fear which CAN engulf us. We are bidden by God to venture out in trust and faith. Only our fears and mistrust of the Creator can keep us from a happiness and joy meant to be part of earthly life! The real core of our angst today is NOT discovering and knowing the real message of the both the Bible and Koran. Leaders of both the Christians and Moslems get their place by focusing on hate rather than "love your enemy and forgive his trespasses against you."

My nature is to be friendly and chat with anyone. It upsets my wife at times when we have other things to do. Like most women, she is ready to get things done in her plan for the day. At times I just stop and chat while she is busy shopping for groceries and impatient to get that task done.

For me, it is fun to chat and make new friends. She is happy just to have me by her side and her honey-do list completed before the sun sets on the day. We are both now simi-retired and I don't always listen. It makes her mad, but life is too enjoyable to relentlessly rush through it in the few years left to us, in my view. I am sure no one else has this problem in their late years (add the humor font on this).

A few years ago I went in a tobacco shop in Rocky Mount run by an immigrant from the Middle East. He always had his TV playing off a satellite station with Arabic language. After we had gained an appreciation of one another as men, he chatted on a deeper level about his faith in the Koran. He told me something I did not know: The Koran has the birth narratives of Jesus!

I had assumed the "godless faith of the Muslims" would forever keep us apart. We even fought bloody wars in the Middle Ages called "The Great Crusades." People from the West put on their armor and people from the East pulled and sharpened their swords. More blood flowed for hundreds of years between Christians and Moslems than it did in the First and Second World Wars! Those who really hate the President resurrect such hate by accusing him of not being a Christian and "really being a hidden Moslem." It is endless for the reason of misunderstanding and fear. The "Shores of Tripoli" in the Marine hymn reflect the same hate in modern days.

We quickly forget human history. That is a bad mistake for anyone. My new friend and I had more discussions with smiles once we BOTH realized we had a common Faith Father in Abraham. They have their great Mosque and we have the Temple Mount on the same rock Abraham is supposed to use for the sacrifice of his son, Isaac. They believe Mohamed is their Prophet, we believe Jesus is our Christ and Prophet.

    Now the important spiritual questions:

    •  Why do we tend to focus on things which separate us over those which draw us together?

    •  How many Moslems have read our Bible and how many of us have ever touched a Koran?

    •  Do we enjoy hate over getting along?

    •  Will we ever be able to love and forgive one another over our father's sins?

I had a great picture with the article, but I guess it would not get through. Stan and I can work on that one. It shows 2 protesters with appropriate signs in hand.
