    Mr. Wilbur "Harold" Robinson, Sr., age 90, a resident of 244 North Roberson Road, Old Ford community, died Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Vidant Beaufort Hospital in Washington.

    Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Oakdale Cemetery, Washington, conducted by Rev. Carol Steffa.

    Active pallbearers will be Marshall Todd Singleton, Freddie Matkins, Kevin Boyd, Donnie Woolard, Roland Hill III and Gary Wilson.

    Honorary pallbearers will Jimmy Oakley, Clyde Roberson, Terry Tuten, William Edmondson, Bill Davis, Jesse Boyd, Harvey Williamson, Walter "Bubba" Gerard III and Buddy Spain.

    Mr. Robinson was born in Roanoke Rapids, N.C. on December 26, 1924. He was the son of the late Wilbur Robinson and Emily Pearce Robinson. Mr. Robinson served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He owned and operated Roberson Cleaners in Washington for 43 years. In his spare time, he farmed in the Old Ford community. Mr. Robinson was a member of the First Christian Church in Washington, where he had served as an Elder, Deacon, Trustee and Board Member. He was a retired member of the Washington Volunteer Fire Department and the last original member of the Tranters Creek Herring Club. Mr. Robinson loved his family, his church, and people. He enjoyed giving hugs.

    On April 30, 1947, Mr. Robinson married "the love of his life", the former Dorothy "Dot" Rose Roberson, who preceded him in death, June 18, 2003.

    Mr. Robinson is survived by his son, Wilbur "Harold" Robinson, Jr. and wife, Tracey of Washington; his daughter, Rose Ann R. Woolard and her husband, Grover of Washington; six grandchildren, Hope Robinson Palmer and her husband Ross, Carlotta Gray Jack and her husband, Brian, W. Harold Robinson III and his wife Joyce, Addison "Sonny" Bass III and his wife, Carol Ann, Christian Bass Toppin and her husband, Ron, and James Harold "Jim" Bass and his wife Kristin; one brother, Forrest Alvis and his wife Pat and one sister, Bonnie Cowardin and husband, Billy.

    In addition to his parents and his wife, Mr. Robinson was preceded in death by two sisters, Alice Keaton and Clara Fay Hicks; and one brother, Bruce Alvis.

    The family will receive friends at Mr. Robinson's home, 244 North Roberson Road, Washington.

    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Building Fund of the First Christian Church, 401 East Second Street, Washington, N.C. 27889.
