WASHINGTON, D.C.     Today, Congressman Walter B. Jones (NC-3) was honored with a Certificate of Appreciation from the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA), for "representing thousands of MOAA members and their families in NC," and for his "support of a strong national defense and for ensuring our nation keeps its commitments to currently serving, retired, and former members of the uniformed services and their families and survivors."

Last Congress, Congressman Jones cosponsored more bills to help veterans than any other member of the 113th Congress (which spanned from January 2013 through December 2014). This week, he asked VA Secretary Robert McDonald to come to Capitol Hill and explain how the VA will address the excessive wait times at VA clinics in Eastern North Carolina that were reported last week by the Associated Press.

"It is an honor to receive recognition from the MOAA," said Congressman Jones. "As a member of Congress, I take my duty to support our troops and our veterans very seriously, mindful of the incredible sacrifices they have made."
