Kashon Moore Arrested for Attempted Murder | Eastern NC Now

On August 19th 2015 at approximately 11:00 PM, the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a shooting at a residence on Magnolia School Road in Washington.

    On August 19th 2015 at approximately 11:00 PM, the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a shooting at a residence on Magnolia School Road in Washington. Deputies and Crime Scene Investigators responded to the scene and learned an additional residence had also been struck. Both residence were occupied at the time, including 7 minor children, however no one was injured. Investigators learned the shooting was a targeted attack, related to a physical assault which occurred prior to the shooting.

    The Sheriff’s Office began an investigation, collected evidence, and conducted interviews. As a result of information and evidence gathered during the investigation, Investigator Jonathan Fowler applied for and obtained warrants charging Raimelle Andreas Peterson, age 17 of Charlotte Street in Washington, with four (4) counts of Attempted First Degree Murder, one (1) count of Felony Conspiracy to Commit First Degree Murder, and one (1) count of Felony Conspiracy to Discharge a Weapon Into Occupied Property.

    Additionally, Kashon Eugene Moore, age 20 of Minute Man Lane in Washington, was charged with twelve (12) counts of Attempted First Degree Murder, one (1) count of Felony Conspiracy to Commit First Degree Murder, two (2) counts of Discharging Weapon Into Occupied Property, and one (1) count of Felony Conspiracy to Discharge a Weapon Into Occupied Property.

    Raimelle Peterson was severed while in custody at the Beaufort County Detention Center on unrelated charges. He was presented before Magistrate J. Mills and was held under No Bond for these charges.

    On August 25th, 2015 at approximately 9:00 AM, Kashon Moore was taken into custody in Greensboro, North Carolina by a multi-agency Task Force. Kashon Moore was held at the Guilford County Detention Center under a $1,000,000 secured bond set by a Guilford County Magistrate. The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office enlisted the assistance of the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation Fugitive and Missing Persons Task Force, comprised of the NCSBI, the Greenville Police Department's Violent Criminal Apprehension Team and the Greensboro Police Department's Violent Criminal Apprehension Team. Also assisting in the investigation were the Washington Police Department and the Beaufort County Department of Probation and Parole.

On Monday, April 13, 2026, the Beaufort County Grand Jury returned a True Bill of Indictment against 24-year-old Brady O’Neil Daniels of Wallace, NC, charging him with the murder of Billy Joe Bell in 2023.
On Tuesday, April 7, 2026, Deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call in a wooded area near Pamlico Plantation in Washington NC.
In the past month, Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Patrol and K9 Division have arrested 10 people in the county on felony drug charges.
On December 12, 2025, Deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit arrested 27-year-old Nikkopenia Terra Echevarria of Washington, NC on multiple felony drug charges.
Beaufort County District Attorney Thomas D. Anglim disclosed that Ryan Austin Stalls was convicted of two counts attempted murder and one count of attempted first degree ex offense and first-degree kidnapping following a guilty plea in Beaufort County on December 9, 2025.
On December 22, 2025, Deputies from the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in the Aurora/Richlands area for a report of a foul odor coming from inside a rental property where a tenant had previously moved out.

On December 5, 2025, Deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit arrested 39-year-old, Arnold Gerard Whitney of Belhaven, NC on multiple drug and weapon charges.
On Tuesday December 9th, 2025, 33-year-old Ryan Austin Stalls pled guilty in Beaufort County Superior Court to the following charges:
Today I officially filed for re-election, seeking to continue my service to the citizens of Beaufort County.
On January 27, 2025 Washington Police Department officers and Washington Fire/Rescue personnel responded to the area of Bonner Street and E. Martin Luther King Jr. Street in reference to a report of a motor vehicle crash.
During the past month, members from the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit, Patrol Division and K9 Unit have charged seven people in the county on felony drug charges.
The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office needs your help locating a wanted person. On October 27, 2025, 40-year-old Givon Montrell Hodges of Washington, NC left Superior Court in Beaufort County and failed to return.
