Press Release:

Will He Finally Answer Questions And Take A Stance On The Issues?

Raleigh, N.C.     Today [March 8, 2016], Roy Cooper is holding his first press conference since August of 2015 after pressure from the McCrory campaign to take a stand on key issues facing North Carolina. Will he address the issues or continue to dodge the questions?

  • Will Roy Cooper do his job and take action to block the Charlotte City Council's radical bathroom ordinance from going into effect on April 1?
  • Why did he refuse to challenge the Obama Administration and ACLU in G.G. vs. Gloucester County School Board, a case in Virginia which would force school districts to open up sex-specific locker rooms and bathrooms to the opposite sex or face loss of federal funding?
  • What is Roy Cooper's response to the students in Winston-Salem that want him to take action in the Kalvin Michael Smith case?
  • Does Roy Cooper agree with Governor McCrory and oppose President Obama's plan to close the prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba by transferring battle-hardened terrorists to facilities in the states, potentially including the Carolinas?
  • Does he still support ObamaCare, even after the latest news that Blue Cross & Blue Shield may be forced to stop offering coverage because of it?
  • Will Roy Cooper finally comment on the state bar complaint against him for professional misconduct?
  • Would Roy Cooper support Bernie Sanders, a self-described socialist, if he is the Democrat nominee for President? Will he support Hillary Clinton even if she's indicted for mishandling classified information?
  • Roy Cooper's SuperPAC, ProgressNC, has been attacking new UNC-system President Margaret Spellings for months. Does he condemn or condone these attacks, and does he support her as President of UNC?
  • Why hasn't Roy Cooper released a public schedule in the 14 years he's been attorney general? Now that he is seeking the governor's mansion, will he finally begin releasing a public schedule?
  • Responsible Democrat governors from California to Pennsylvania support fracking, and many support safe offshore energy development. Does Roy Cooper support or oppose fracking and offshore exploration to create jobs and contribute to America's energy independence?
