Governor McCrory Visits Pinebrook Elementary Highlights Digital Learning | Eastern North Carolina Now


    News Release:

Mocksville, N.C.     In an effort to observe digital learning in the classroom, Governor Pat McCrory visited students and teachers at Pinebrook Elementary School today.

    "We cannot prepare students for careers of the future using technology of the past," said Governor McCrory. "Pinebrook Elementary is a shining example of leveraging technology in the classroom to provide a personalized, high quality education for all students."

    While touring Pinebrook, Governor McCrory observed different classroom settings that incorporate innovative learning with every day topics. Following the tour, the governor met with teachers to discuss the importance of digital learning in the classroom.

    Governor McCrory's proposed budget provides $29 million to empower schools to trade textbooks for tablets so students can learn anytime, anywhere using the latest information available.
